I do when I'm dirtbiking but I'd prefer to get away from wearing a backpack on the 1290.5 water bottles? I often ride with a camelbak. Thats enough water for the day and easy to drink without stopping.

how long of a ride before you start noticing its weight?camelbak is life, it is known.
can't say i do, doesn't bother me in the slightest.how long of a ride before you start noticing its weight?
Don't even need the water or snacks - you can pick those up at the gas stations.my current tailbag was far too bulky for the triumph rear seat, so got the nelson rig commuter lite tailbag. Its expandable like the bigger one, and probably just as bulletproof and much more sleek.
Realized I can tour even leaner, dont really need much more than tools, water, and the occasional snack on the road.
I'm with evo. 4L of water and snacks in the camelbak in the morning. I've done thousands of km in a day and the camelbak was a complete non issue. Depending on how you adjust it, it can rest on the pillion seat (not ideal for active portions of the ride but easy to cinch the straps when they are on the horizon).how long of a ride before you start noticing its weight?
I use a tank-mount bag on my KTM, but since the ring is designed for other bikes, I just bolted it to the rear rack instead. On a bike like yours, with a removable passenger seat, I've seen some people replace the seat with a piece of wood or steel with the seat latch on the bottom and tank lock on the top. Not noticeable with the bag mounted and solid, but easily removable.Much cleaner, no more overhang or bulkiness, perfect size for me

My 7-10L camel back has never been noticeable even after a full day ride. Plus they’re super slim so don’t bother me at all even after 1000km.how long of a ride before you start noticing its weight?
I can check to confirm.7-10L???
Thats a big Camelback.
I suspect that is cargo capacity not water capacity. I think camelbak tops out at 120oz (~3.5L). If you fill by connecting the hose to the fridge after you have closed the lid and purged the air, you can get some more in.7-10L???

We do what we can, with what we have:15???? lawd.

They put a 10% smaller tank on ABS version? Wow. I wouldn't have expected that.We do what we can, with what we have:

The abs pump had to go somewhere and beside the battery in the middle of the tank won. They put a 10% smaller tank on ABS version? Wow. I wouldn't have expected that.
I figured that was why, I was just surprised that was the chosen option (and the cost was so high). Two tanks are annoying to stock. The abs pump had to go somewhere and beside the battery in the middle of the tank won.

That's pretty cool. There's a guy in BC who posts on ADVRider who has an elaborate R1250GS rig. Serious $$ but he seems to make it worthwhile.
