Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

Took my new (to me) DR650 out for a ride. Does surprisingly well on the highway. Rode through some mud just for fun.

Just got back. Cooling down outside, washing the bike was a bit of a chilly experience, but wanted to get the crap off before it sits for what looks like will be another few weeks based on the forecast.

No complaints. Third ride this month.

Was out yesterday and today... Nice!!!

Still waiting for a nice day. Now's the time that I miss the straight roads, and mild weather of the GTA.

remember guys!

Dont pump gasoline, its still winter gas with the additives. Especially bad if you are carbureted.

Snowmobiles and every other 2 and 4 stroke engine on the planet designed for winter (or not) runs just fine on it, yes, including carbureted engines. Aside from some (typically) extra butane and/or MTBE to make it more volatile, it's still gas in the end.

It'll evaporate faster in the summer months, however...but given as how most people drive the bejesus out of their bikes in the spring, that's not a big deal.

In the end, it's virtually impossible to avoid it anyways as the "summer gas" conversion isn't mandated at the refinery production evel until May 1'st, and gas stations are legally allowed to continue to sell winter blend up until June 1st. From what I've heard & read it's usually the second week of May before a full changeover is typically complete to the pump level....and many riders have had their bike out for many, many weeks by that point....with no ill effects.

I took the new Magnum out yesterday. Beauty day.

Took my buddy's (new to him) cbr500 for a spin to stretch its legs and also because he was worried his battery was dead (he can't ride yet). not even 3 minutes out and I get into an altercation with a ******** who was inching his mammoth SUV forward from a parking lot exit, despite being stopped and looking in my direction.

I hope you didn't tell him your name was sesamestreet. It's hard to look tough after that.

Thread derailer... CHOO CHOO! How was driving the 500? Thoughts for a new rider?

Its nice, no complaints. I'm more into cruisers and café style bikes but it is what it is. It's a Honda, reliable, easy to work on. But it doesn't feel as awesome as my triumph. What more can I say?

Riding is fun so no, it's not boring. But like I said, sport bikes are not for me. In fact, my thruxton gives me more power, a more aggressive stance, and it's viewed as a "standard" for insurance purposes.

Might take my bike out for tom, its supposed to be 12C, hopefully no rain, just one more week of cold weather and then its consistently positive numbers (hopefully).

I'll be out tomorrow but it will be a short hop. There hasn't been rain since the last snow and salt. But 12 degrees - gotta get out there.

Forecast improved a lot since I last looked. Only 9 degrees out this way, but still windy as hell. Hmm. I'll probably go out for a little hop at least. ;)
