Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

Re: Something wicked this way comes...

I saw a guy riding an adventure bike down Victoria today while I was on my way to a supplier. I thought "why not"? It's warm out now, relatively speaking. I believe that this may be the wave of the future. Not sure if I'm ready yet, but I think about getting the all purpose bike when I see this.

Re: Something wicked this way comes...

Actually street tires are better in these conditions...you want something light.

One reason we bought the 300 lb 250 from CSC - drop it who cares.

I used to ride in snow and ice on a Honda 305 Hawk ....dropped it a couple of times - pick upi carry on.
Adventure bike does not offer much other than perhaps hand and engine guards if you dump.
A lower upright street bike is easier.

Re: Something wicked this way comes...

All 'bout that TW200

Re: Something wicked this way comes...

When there's no snow on the road, my ole sport bike does fine.....with heated grips and wind deflectors.....

Great 200km ride today...currently at Burrito Boyz looks like I'm the only one who came through on a bike today

you've been riding as long as I have and your go to spot is still the forks??
It's not actually, but I still go once or twice a year. I think it's law. Besides it's the route you take to it that really matters.

Anyway put 240km on the bike on the 24th and another 80 km on the 25th, never done that before this time of year!

That's about what I got in 24th & 25th.........25th was getting cold right quick and no Timmies open....settled for a bowl of Chinese soup.
24th was really nice day.

Was tempted to ride into work today, but will be drinking at the work lunch party today, plus they the forecast calls for rain or light snow in the GTA. Not sure if that's gonna happen.

Did some shoveling, and now I'm running some errands with the bike :D I hope the any freezing doesn't start until I get back home.

I've officially joined the "I don't want to get my bike covered in salt" club at this point. Long term 14 day forecast isn't looking good either.

Leaving Toyota dealer on Woodlawn in Guelph at 4:00pm today.Metric cruiser with rider wearing a half lid.Seriously man! It was freezing rain at the time.Hardcore is nice.....but stupid is as stupid does.

EC is forecasting a Sunday night time low of -13C. Ouch. That's going to chill the roads pretty good. Might as well run in the Stabil, check for oil leaks and wrap up the season. Fingers crossed for an early start in March.

Rode in this morning to work, was nice, tested my full cotton sherpa lined Parka out today. It was nice, bought it 2 sizes larger so could put a sherpa lined hoodie in it, and man did this keep my core warm and toasty, hence my fingers and toes stayed warm also!

Love this Parka, bought it for $110 from Abercrombie online, regular price around $250.

Had a half lid on the hwy all the way to downtown, awesome ride, no traffic. I think my riding season just got extended with this Parka and hoodie!

I know the next few days and till mid next week we got crazy below zero, but it rebounds back mid week they say and even if I can ride in once a week in January I'll keep her running till I see no rebound in the temps.

Fingers crossed for an early start in March.

We've done so well to be riding so late in the season that in reality...that's only 8 weeks away. Winter could seem very, very short if we get an early spring.

Yeah was snowing pretty good when I left Oshawa at 7 am this morning. As I approached the 404/407 ramp I thought it had just snowed, turned out the salt truck was just getting onto the 407 west from 404 north, and had dumped a whole load of salt as he left. Couldn't pay me enough to ride my bike thru that. Bike will stay parked until we see at least a week of +10 and rain to wash the roads clean again.
