I bought one of these from my favourite scotch store in the UK (in London), can't find it here anymore - we were told that it was the last bottle available because the distillery closed. Guess they were wrong!!

Damn, so many scotches I want to try now and a few I've never even heard of. Have to say my favourite out of everything I've tried so far is Balvenie Signature. I also love Oban and Dalwhinnie and usually have a bottle of at least one of those 3 around the house.

i also recommand Jameson 15 yrs old, good price for something nice
Gold label is aight too once in a while for something not over priced.
Also if u can get ur hands on the high end ones from the duty free across the border, thats the best way to go.

With the holiday season upon us, I fear a major hit coming up for my scotch selection... so I'm looking at finding a supplier that won't charge me the same for shipping as it costs for the bottle in the first place. I'd been using Royal Mile Whiskeys (.com) and was very pleased with their service and charges - but I'm wondering if anyone has used any other service or can recommend anything else.

I'd be OK with shipping to the US, if it saves some money, and if there's a way to circumvent customs....

Alternatively, if anyone wants to jump in on a group buy, let me know.

I saw this early this week (when they sent me the monthly digest) and promptly posted it on Facebook, asking for donations from my friends. None replied, however... Anyways, right now I've got a shopping cart with about £530 worth of (5) bottles of scotch, and their shipping charge to my house is a mere £32 - which is why I suggested that anyone else with some sort of wish list jump on the bandwagon and add your purchases to my shopping cart. I'm giving it a cut-off of next week, I'm not in any real rush to get the bottles before Christmas.. plus I'm hoping to receive some cash as presents!

I'm a rare drinker, and my scotch collection seems to have disappeared.
What should I get my hands on for the Holiday season that isn't too pricey?

I was feeling patriotic last week, so I picked up some of this for a party we were holding - it went over well:

It's not Scottish, so it's ....

Actually, the Scotch Whisky Association's lawsuit was finally rejected, so that Canada's only single malt can leave "Glen" in their name.

I'm not a fan of hard liquor, but after trying so Remy Martin and another exotic Cognac, I was surprised I really loved it.

I know they're not Whiskey, but I just thought I'll add

Now you have to make the trek out to Cape Breton and spend a nite or two at the distillery in one of their "chalets".It was the most fun we have ever had on a tour.

Blair Athol Distillery in Scotland.. some of the best scotch you'll ever taste.... none of the strong peat flavour - just a really nice, smooth scotch. They have their own water source in form of a stream right on property too.

Aiite: we have about 8 bottles on the shipping order so far. Any other takers, or should I just submit the order as it stands?
For the record, the partial list contains:

- 14yr old Cragganmore limited edition
- 27yr old Cragganmore cask strength
- 12yr old Cragganmore special vintage
- 30yr old Bunnahabhain cask strength
- 10yr old Bunnahabhain unchillfiltered
- 15yr old Dalwhinnnie
- 12yr old Laphroaig extra-bold unchillfiltered

I wanted to send my cousin in Greece a nice bottle of scotch. How would I do that?

Pack it very well and label contents scotch whiskey and the volume in milliliters, and mark the paperwork as gift and ship it Fedex. Do not send it parcel post.
