Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Same trim level? The $40k model is the work truck, specifications and content yet to be announced. XLT is US$53k. You don't get the fancy full-width front and rear lights unless you buy a Lariat or Platinum. You don't get Ford's hands-free driving until the $90k Platinum.

It looks like Ford will have no shortage of buyers ...

Early impressions are VERY good.

My only quibble thus far, is that it looks like every other F150. Usually people in the EV segment want something unique and different that stands out.

But I understand why ford did this.

todays link tells you everything you need to know. Car an Drivers research is second to none. Very comprehensive.

edit: yowsa, 775 lbs ft of torque, and independent rear suspension. radical departure for an F. not only will it be fast, it should ride well too.

there is no way the production rates for the BT1XX equipment that I've seen match the (small) numbers that I expect the Hummer to sell. GM has something cooking that they're not talking about yet.

silverado electric.

I think I may have seen something perhaps I wasn’t supposed to see (or maybe the public wasn’t expected to notice), but there’s some pretty neato stuff going on in Oshawa for those of us who spend time around the plant and have keen observation skills.

I trust this guys opinion, and its very favourable.

He even takes a dig at GM near the end LOL.......... see its not just me, They are absolutely clueless....

He has dissected many Tesla's and is very knowledgeable on Electric power trains.

Its looking like we have a WINNER here folks.... well except for the styling, but that's subjective.

From then until early 2021, government agreements show Tesla was reimbursed around $102 million of the roughly $296 million sent to individual dealerships selling electric vehicles from 15 different automakers.

Next to Tesla - which sells directly to customers - Hyundai dealerships saw the second highest reimbursement amount of $50 million, followed by Chevrolet dealerships at nearly $40 million.

Unlike the latter two, which have a selection of electric vehicles that qualify for rebates, Tesla currently only has one, its Model 3.

With a manufacturer's suggested retail price for a standard range at $44,999, the Tesla Model 3 squeezes in just below the program's cutoff for a low-end model of $45,000.

Canada has a sales target to have 10 per cent of all light-duty cars be electric by 2025.

Last fall, Ottawa announced it was pumping another $287 million into the $300 million program because its popularity meant the cash was drying up sooner than the end date of 2022.

just wait till ford releases the E-F150,

they will take the crown for sure.
You think it will be <$44,999? Lightning is >$68,000 in Canada. Ford wont get any of this money for a very long time (but they will sell a lot of trucks as they appear to be a good product).

Don't kid yourself, they will sell. even in Canada. LOT's of them.

from everything I've read and seen so far, its an amazing product and well done.

LOL

I know some of their test route ...

Not a performance vehicle. Neither is a RAV4, or a CRV. And the infotainment needs work. I don't particularly care for the styling, either, but I also don't care for the styling of its competitors.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 appears to have the spec-sheet edge, but it's an uninspiring square box to look at.

If I lived somewhere else in the world ... I like this way more than the VW ID3. It's basically the same vehicle, but they've sorted out the appearance, inside and out, and done some suspension fiddling and upped the power some. (And, for me, this is the right size. The ID4 is too big.) New 2022 Cupra Born: hot hatch is Spanish brand's first EV | Autocar

A lot of stuff shown was already in the articles but big point is that the EPA range testing was done with 1000lbs loaded.
So the 300/400mi ranges should actually be higher in normal unloaded driving.

Really interested in this truck. If I didn't drive up to Sudbury regularly I'd have a deposit down to trade my gas F150 for this one.
Like the idea of onboard scales to tell you what your actual range is when loaded/towing.
Front trunk is amazing, anyone who drives a truck understands that dilemma of always backing in to get out easy but the pain of loading things (groceries, etc).
The reverse home power is a nice touch. Just hope you can control how much juice it takes and not end up with no transportation in an emergency.

It's 400 km to Sudbury. Looks like the F150 will do that easily on one charge, even the base model.

And there's a 200 kW fast-charger at PetroCanada, 1 Horseshoe Lake Road, Parry Sound.

And another one at 1810 Regent St., Sudbury.

No problemo.

I believe Ford has a winner here. Would like to see real world tests and reviews to be sure,

but its really looking like we have a game changer on our hands, and Ford should retain their lead in light truck sales.

If's been funny watching people shift the goalposts now that an honest to god pickup truck with a big range has hit the market.

- But it can't go 600km on a charge! Pfft. (Guy in question has probably never driven more than 250km in his life without stopping for an hour)
- It'll go 50km towing my trailer. (Well, actually, about that...not so much)
- There's no chargers, this is stupid. (Show them a picture from Plugshare with much of the GTA blanketed, and explain the L3 network, specifically the ultra fast Petro Can chargers which are now nicely spaced...crickets)

Don't get me started on all the people trotting out the old and busted "Making the battery is more toxic and releases more Co2 than the gas engine would in 100 years!" song and dance nonsense.
