80 year old woman fractures hip after being tasered by police

I say zap'em all and let God sort'em out

so it looks like there were 3 cops ( one who tasered the 80 yr old, 2 witness officers ) the 80yr old lady, and her husband

3 trained cops couldnt take down an 80yr old with a meat cleaver ? thats sad.do the police even bother training people anymore, or do they just tell you to blast away with tasers casue its better to be safe than sorry.

can you imagine what a veteran cop would think of, hearing that cops today cant disarm an 80yr old lol

i wonder if the other 2 cops then jumped on her back screaming " dont resist us, stop resisting " while giving her repeated knees in the back, each one working on different arms.

i cant wait to see some dashboard cam from this episode.

Wow! Now this...3 cops to take on a 80 year old woman, seriously these cops need to get fired right away without pay, welcome to the police state!

She was armed with a meat cleaver? Well, that changes things a bit.. Might have been more inclined to use pepper spray but I'm armchairing with 20/20.

She had a meat cleaver? Yeah, I'm changing my opinion too - should have shot her

all joking aside, if she was armed with a meat cleaver and in all likelihood suffering from dementia or other form of mental illness.... what do you expect the police to do? Engage in hand to hand combat? This isn't Hollywood, and the safety of the officers of the law trumps the safety of a nutjob (of any age) wielding a butcher's knife. In fact, say the officers DID engage her physically - she would probably have got hurt a lot worse than just a fractured hip.... pretty sure a nightstick to the head would inflict pretty serious injury. Police aren't martial artists, and this isn't about "fighting fair". I am pretty sure most police officers, and human beings in general, have an aversion to getting stabbed/chopped at...

Hilarious that the media conveniently left out that rather KEY fact of a meat cleaver before blowing up twitter and every news site with what could only be construed as a gross misuse of force

you all knew there had to be more to this story, like maybe a meat clever.
Not even Ontario police would just go "here, watch this" and Taze an old women.

Wooooooow. Our most serious and reliable Member on GTAM, bunmachi, mentions a meat cleaver with no references, and all of a sudden it's fact and the media are all conspirators deliberately hiding the truth from us!
Maybe there was a cleaver, maybe not. Maybe the media all knew and decided not report it (well, no), maybe there's more to the story (definitely) but boy you sure took that first pitch that was thrown at you and ran all 55 yards with it. Touchdown for Stevex! Now we just have to figure out what you actually caught.

The news reported her having a knife but didn't specify what type of knife.

The article in the first post says......

"is believed to suffer from dementia and was spotted on the street with a kitchen knife in her hand."

Nobody got that?

Hmmm I didn't. Or the fact that there were witnesses and she only spoke Italian. Either I skipped that part or they added it later?

Don't know what you did.... I just scrolled down and there it was.

Guess that was a touchdown.

BTW: in football it's a pass, not a pitch. I'm guessing you didn't see a lot of sports from inside your locker with your underwear over your head though.

:)

I saw the article on the cp24 app and it didn't note either of those things.

Reports this morning are referencing a 911 call from someone who was 'chased with a meat cleaver' and she was reported to have had a kitchen knife in her hand, in the earliest report that I heard.

Looks like the meat cleaver and the kitchen knife reports are ref. the same person.

Seems she was chasing her husband down the street with..... either.....

Or so says desperate for a story media outlet X.
