Make sure it doesn't shoot somebody while you're out.
I have a .22 Marlin lever action that from 30ft away looks pretty much like my Winchester .30-30 . You could strut around with it , but you might need a ten gallon hat and western boots to complete the look.
Speaking of struting why do the guys need to wear camo to the gun range? Those paper targets don't seem to skitish. And why do I see fisherman sitting in boats in full camo? Fish cannot see through aluminum.
So... any of you non-shooters want to meet at Silverdale tomorrow and see what the shooting sport is all about? You'll see (maybe even try if you ask the owner nicely) AR-15s, Tavors, XCRs, Mini 14s, etc etc... I'm allowed to take in and supervise one guest who does not have a gun license. As for me, I will be bringing two semi-automatics and likely one bolt action... need to do some sighting in and testing of a new rifle.
It might be an eye-opener to you... you'll have 100's of shooters around you sporting 'dangerous assault weapons' and handguns and no one shooting each other!
Dang...missed out. Would have loved to try a Tavor. Shooting a .22 Marlin is about as easy as a BB gun IIRC.
I'd love to see current stats on gun ownership in Ontario. The shooting sports have exploded since I got into it. Silverdale is bursting at the seams
They all are. Range Burlington has a waiting list that is over a year... maybe two.
As of 2014 the number licensed was approaching 2 million... http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/facts-faits/index-eng.htm... likely much higher now though, as I recently read a stat (that I can't find the link to) that the RPAL numbers are approaching 1 million... and I imagine that there are way more PAL holders than RPAL.
Valid Licences as of December 2014

Handguns severely restricted. Assault-type weapons severely restricted. Open-carry prohibited. Concealed-carry prohibited except for very rare exception. Stricter licensing regime.
By your logic with all those impediments to gun ownership/use/carry in Canada OUR streets should be running with blood, yet by comparison with that place you seem to hold holy they are not. Why is that?

I'll repost this:

PS, do you believe Orlando is a hate crime or a terrorist act?
Why can't it be both??
Let's just call it MURDER and end the labeling there.
The dead people don't care about labels but their friends and family only know of 1 label now...DEAD.
The reason one needs to classify the type of attack is because the root cause and thus the associated solutions can, or are, radically different.
But of course progressives don't want to talk about terrorists when it doesn't suit their narrative . Oh and lets go after guns...............
Right.Handguns severely restricted.
Wrong. Aside from the AR-15 (specifically) and the AK-47, it's pretty much a free-for-all.Assault-type weapons severely restricted.
@Snobike Mike, what is it about the Canadian gun ownership experience you don't like? What tweaks if any would you recommend? A major overhaul?
