2023 Day Trips!

I can't tell if you are being serious or not, this seems very much like a @Maniac answer.
Wouldn't it make you hot though?
I wear one every time I ride, no matter the weather.
In the heat, it drys in a snap at quick stops or breaks, and keeps the "funk" out of the helmet. And I like them for comfort.
Easy to find in winter at Royal....not so easy this time of the yr.
Moisture wicking & seamless.

Same material as a winter one?

What fantastic weather we are having.

I've been meaning to do a run like this for a while. Toronto to Ottawa and back in the same day to visit a buddy of mine there.

I planned to do some more interesting roads, but I got diverted at Port Perry because they closed HWY 7 after island rd. Had to re-route around. Wasted a bit of time doing that. Basically once I got to Lakefield I took 28 all the way to Denbigh, then up to Griffth, then of course 71/65/508 to Calabogie

Stop in Calabogie, was trying to find where @shanekingsley took his photo, think I was close.

Stopped in Pakenham to see the stone bridge

Had lunch with my buddy in Ottawa, but didn't have time to cruise around downtown or take photos. Had to head home.

Stop in Smith Falls, another town with no actual falls!

Then HWY 15 into Kingston then home

a balaclava also solves this

It's a Buff, people: https://www.buff.com/ca/neckwear/shopby/coolnet.html. Should be available at any outdoor sporting goods store. Even Amazon sells them. The gaiter shown in the F9 video is nothing more than a Buff copy; will do the job.

I've been wearing them for years. Keeps the sun off. Soak in freezing cold water when it's hot, will cool you down for about twenty or thirty minutes. I wear a thicker fleece Buff in cold weather. Both versions are long and stretchy enough to stuff into the top of your jacket and into your helmet or even over your head.

Use as a neck gaiter, a beanie, headband, face mask, etc.

Does anyone watch Survivor? They're all wearing Buffs.

Buff is just a marketing brand, nothing to do with neck gaiter design or innovation, just one of a million places that sells gaiters.

The basic design has been around for a thousand years. I used to make them for a few big brands, Roo**, Skid**, ME*, Aerosti**.... winter version are made with a tight knit poly fleece to prevent wind and frost burn for skiers and smowmobilers, summer versions are extruded polyester wicking yarns knits (like coolmax,) to hold back bugs and neck sunburn.

The basic design/pattern is simple, 16" round x 12 tall tube, stretch is 4 way, grain is on the 12 length. You can make one from any old tshirt, most are Spf 50.
