2023 Day Trips!

Earliest for me is beginning of June.

Let's plan something

Keep it...even if just to keep your insurance in tact without any gaps...as long as your insurance is cheap enough...even if you go out once or twice...as long as the bike is paid for obviously :D
That’s what’s tearing me up….keep and potentially be upset I have no bike (as I did when I worked in BC), or just pay the $700/year to have it sit in the garage.

that's a no brainer...even if you do 700 km, it's only a buck a click...ride to work a few weeks and there's your justification! :D

No brainier try TD melloch for insurance it will be less and then have it for when you can use it.

I'm with TD. No one is able to touch their rates due to the PEO discount.

What glorious day yesterday was! Decided to take advantage of it with a long ride.

This one is for our Polish memebers. I believe @mimico_polak mentioned the Szare szeregi monument last year, so I had to check it out, and @oioioi the church in Wilno. Off I went.

I don't have a saved route since my phone now suck and battery needs constaint charging. Something like this.
Da hood > Cannington > Kinmount > Gooderham > Wilberforce > Maynooth > Combermere > Wilno

Kinmont pit stop
Last year sometime I met the owner of the local B&B in this same area. Funny enough he was here again and came right over to me as he remembered me. We had a good chat.

Fantastic day of riding.

Bad news it cost me $85 in fuel!!
You should post your plans, sure there are lots of GTAM folks that would tag-along.

Mike is that your way of saying you wanted to tag along ;)

Honestly my schedule is so random I don't even know what I am doing sometimes.
That morning I did some maintenance on the bike, then left.
But I will try!

With the idea of keeping a bike insured just to avoid lapse in insurance .
What would be the cheapest bike to insure?

Say I want to buy a bike to technically own it and get it insured with the most basic insurance. It could be just a frame with a a VIN number sitting in my shed while the bike that I don't want to sell and can't ride right now sits covered in my garage waiting to be ridden again.

Anyone ever try this method?

I've had 6-8 months of non-insurance, and TD just told me if it's over a year or so then they'd consider it a lapse. If it's a few months, no one considers this as a 'lapse'.

I'm thinking more like 2-3 years of "lapse"

You thinking of selling the STROMTROOPER?
Not planning on it but I'm in the same boat as you. Not much time to ride. For example. I had to skip on a nice ride into Pennsylvania this past weekend with a few buddies.

But I really don't want to sell my bike.

Did a trip to a free experienced riders course yesterday, paid for by the city of Ottawa, to promote motorcycle safety. It was a good warm up.

Didn't you just get that last year?

Did a run up to Big Shute and Bala today, then across 118 to Minden. Nothing too special. I wasn't really sure how far I would go as there was suppose to be some rain in the afternoon, which didn't happen. Some dark clouds and windy, not much sun or warmth.

Just outside of Coldwater these guys appeared.
