That’s what’s tearing me up….keep and potentially be upset I have no bike (as I did when I worked in BC), or just pay the $700/year to have it sit in the garage.Keep it...even if just to keep your insurance in tact without any gaps...as long as your insurance is cheap enough...even if you go out once or twice...as long as the bike is paid for obviously
that's a no brainer...even if you do 700 km, it's only a buck a click...ride to work a few weeks and there's your justification! That’s what’s tearing me up….keep and potentially be upset I have no bike (as I did when I worked in BC), or just pay the $700/year to have it sit in the garage.
I do that math with my sled. This past winter I think it was about $70/km.that's a no brainer...even if you do 700 km, it's only a buck a click...ride to work a few weeks and there's your justification!
No brainier try TD melloch for insurance it will be less and then have it for when you can use it.That’s what’s tearing me up….keep and potentially be upset I have no bike (as I did when I worked in BC), or just pay the $700/year to have it sit in the garage.

You should post your plans, sure there are lots of GTAM folks that would tag-along.What glorious day yesterday was! Decided to take advantage of it with a long ride.
This one is for our Polish memebers. I believe @mimico_polak mentioned the Szare szeregi monument last year, so I had to check it out, and @oioioi the church in Wilno. Off I went.
I don't have a saved route since my phone now suck and battery needs constaint charging. Something like this.
Da hood > Cannington > Kinmount > Gooderham > Wilberforce > Maynooth > Combermere > Wilno
Kinmont pit stop
Last year sometime I met the owner of the local B&B in this same area. Funny enough he was here again and came right over to me as he remembered me. We had a good chat.

With the idea of keeping a bike insured just to avoid lapse in insurance .Keep it...even if just to keep your insurance in tact without any gaps...as long as your insurance is cheap enough...even if you go out once or twice...as long as the bike is paid for obviously
I've had 6-8 months of non-insurance, and TD just told me if it's over a year or so then they'd consider it a lapse. If it's a few months, no one considers this as a 'lapse'.With the idea of keeping a bike insured just to avoid lapse in insurance .
What would be the cheapest bike to insure?
Say I want to buy a bike to technically own it and get it insured with the most basic insurance. It could be just a frame with a a VIN number sitting in my shed while the bike that I don't want to sell and can't ride right now sits covered in my garage waiting to be ridden again.
Anyone ever try this method?
You thinking of selling the STROMTROOPER?I'm thinking more like 2-3 years of "lapse"
QT50. Costs me $165/year.Vespa?
Virago 250 or Rebel 250?
CBR 125?
Etc…
Not planning on it but I'm in the same boat as you. Not much time to ride. For example. I had to skip on a nice ride into Pennsylvania this past weekend with a few buddies. You thinking of selling the STROMTROOPER?
Didn't you just get that last year? Not planning on it but I'm in the same boat as you. Not much time to ride. For example. I had to skip on a nice ride into Pennsylvania this past weekend with a few buddies.
But I really don't want to sell my bike.
