Ventured out on Friday to the east and ended up going north. I was planning on doing PEC but after taking a look at Shane's map of riding roads, I started adding in some roads to the trip and eventually ended up reaching north. It was a good day for riding. The Lakeshore Road from Bond Head to Millbrook was really good, I rode it twice. The Shell gas station on the way to Millbrook didn't have washrooms, so instead ended up going to Tim Hortons a little further up the road. 504 is under construction and best to avoid. I had a veggie burger from Border Town Market Cafe. The folks there were really nice and the burger was good too (as good as a veggie burger gets lol)

Saw a lot of riders. Rode with an R3 on Hwy 7 from Peterborough to Marmora (just happened to end up together but didn't get a chance to talk). Also, saw 2 SS riders entering Northey's Bay Rd as I was exiting. Made me smile as Northey's Bay Rd is perfect for SS riding :D

Very nice. I just put together a route that is east of where you were riding, to explore the Frontenac County. Food spots at points 8 & 13. Google Maps says 12hrs. Should be a fun route. Mississauga to The Cottage Coffee House & Mississauga to The Cottage Coffee House

Insane route! I'm sure it'll be a fun ride. Some of those roads, esp between 16 and 17 looks a lot technical. Look forward to hearing about your ride :)

It's sad that all the decent roads are at least 2 hours away from Toronto.

Even the roads around points 3, 5, 7 & 9 are pretty technical. It's a super amazing area to ride in. A few years ago a bunch of us stayed overnight at the Desert Lake Campground and used it as a base for exploring. Highly recommended.

Sometimes I feel that having to ride a couple hours to get to the really good roads means that they are far less travelled. If they were closer they might end up being the over-crowded hotspots like the Forks or something similar with way more cars, police and nutjobs.

I suspect because they are remote, a bunch of them are also probably gravel roads

It's amazing what's changed and what hasn't over the years there. We used to go horseback riding there.
My first time through the area was almost 60 years ago, back when you had to go via 48, 12, 69 to get there.

The summer solstice ride we did this year included about 1/2 of them and all were paved and in good shape. Some very twisty and hilly, but good pavement overall. The only section I can’t recall if we rode before is the points 13-16, so there may be gravel in there.

I read the whole thing. Tragic. What a bunch of small minded nitwits.
I read Peter Edwards book "Bandido Massacre". It was quite an eyeopener. The Bandidos appear as the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Members didn't even all ride. They couldn't support themselves even through illegal means. Just a shambles that was side tracked by Wayne Kellastine

I think I'll have to do the same. Maybe stay at someplace and use it as a base for exploring.

You're right about the good roads being a little further from the general population. In a way, it's really good. I have never encountered a cop car or any driving/riding in a manner that is dangerous. Think of it, I'm probably guilty of riding 10-20 over the limit in comparison.

I should do some more research and work on my seating position so that I can stretch a little longer. 500-600 km rides take me 8-9 hours now and lots of sore muscles lol

8-9 hours on an sv650S? Doing better than I ever did

20mins tops and my body hurt everywhere.

those earlier S models have full on race ergos

my cottage is just north of Northbrook/Cloyne, i'll be there on the weekend of the 15th.
Awesome! What a beautiful area to have a cottage.

I will do this on a weekday, because I think that area will be pretty busy on weekends.
