2021 Day Trips!

you guys are killing me...LOL...I usually put 6-7,000 km on in a season (most of which is done in July & August when I'm off), last year due to Covid I did a measly 4,000...this year so far, a whopping 700 km...woot woot...maybe I'll win a prize for the least amount of km put on in a season... LMAO...
Well there is still the rest of July and all of August :)
Next week is looking to be pretty sweet for sun, well it's gotta be better then this week. Hopefully you can take advantage of it!

@sburns oh I know...last week's humidity did me in and this week so far, it's been rain, rain and more rain...I did get out for an hour and a half yesterday, and to be honest, the three tailgaters (one chick I thought was going to rear end me as I was turning into a gas station) made it less enjoyable...that and the fact that I'm tired of riding in Ontario is all contributing to this funk I'm in...and now, hubby bought us bicycles and I'm having fun going for walks and bike rides...I'm living vicariously through everyone else's pictures :D

Is there a similar sign in your neck of the woods that is longer than 32 km? I vaguely remember seeing one from one of my rides out that way many years ago, but can't recall if I'm mixing it up with somewhere else.
Might be. I thought the other one was in the 20's, but my memory sucks.

I've noticed in some areas, it will say 2k, then 2k later, 1k, then 1k later, 3k . . . Which may be the way of the future.

I remember a similar or perhaps longer sign somewhere east of 41 perhaps on 509 around Plevna? I haven't been out there in a couple of years now and my memory is fading to say the least.

I’ll ask over on ADVrider - I’m sure someone knows where it is!

Found this in my photos from 2016. It says Plevna North Frontenac
Nice! That's the same one I have from a ride I did about 15yrs ago.

Lol
1986 Ninja 1000r
Still porky, but not like a katana :)
Cool bike. I was really wondering because the rear lights reminded me if my wife's 1996 ninja 250, I should have known.

Finally a nice day without rain! Did a run up to Big Chute, this time starting from HWY 400 to Coldwater, made it a bit easier to get home as well.

Didn't really stop to much and take pictures, just enjoyed the ride as it was so nice!

Went like this

Yesterday's ride out to Port Stanley, with no rain!

Basically I wanted to get as far West as I could, which ended up being London, then south. Left a bit late.
QEW, 403, 401, got me to London. Not really much to see. The downtown was deserted. Just some sketchy people hanging around.

On to St Thomas. Eek well their downtown wasn't a happy place (lots of abandon buildings). But some interesting train stuff.

Port Stanley - Nice little town did the loop through the town, saw the bridge lift up. I would have stuck around but the beach/port parking has no shady spots.

Highlight I the trip! I fill up just outside of town, then pulled over to the side of the parking lot to figure out where I head next. I saw another Harley cop bike go by. Lost sight of them, but he pulled into the gas station, and came to where I was and parked next to me. Nice! He said he saw another cop bike the other day and wondered if I was that other person. Anyhow we stuck up a good conversation, really nice rider, old school kind, ton's of knowledge on bikes and years of riding and building stuff. He had a 1984 Harley Electra Glide with only 30,000 miles on it. See pic below.

Here's how it went.

@sburns Grew up down that way and yes, St Thomas (I was born in the hospital there) is probably the most dull and depressing city in Ontario and London is probably the most boring. Port Stanley has seen a good amount of growth in recent years.

Actually I didn't mind the roughness of St Thomas, visually it made it interesting, but ya living there would be depressing.

Curious are there a lot of MC gangs that way, I noticed a large group of them at the gas station (patches etc). and another patched rider outside of Port Stanley. Never really seen riders like that anyplace else.

Yes I believe a chapter of the Bandidos are (or were) down that way, not sure if they are still around. There was a notorious murder case involving them about 10 years ago but I don't recall the deets.

Come to think of it, I could be wrong about the resident gang down there being the Bandidos. So I researched and came up with this..Shedden is 15 minutes from my hometown
