    Hiking + Riding boots?

How about a pair of hiking boots? If they have ankle protection and are lace up they should offer good protection. Quality hiking boots are light and flexible- if they're not comfortable then you wouldn't be able to hike for long. I have a pair of timberlane trail hiking shoes. They have...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Lowballs are like 25% of asking. Any of these so called reality car shows or Pawn Stars will only offer 50% to start. If you want to sell something on Kijiji be realistic on the price and you will sell it in short order. Otherwise expect lowballs and other ridiculous offers or trades.

    Hwy 407 question.

Demand? The 407 doesn't appear to be demand though. Lol!

    Hwy 407 question.

No but if most of the major highways here were toll then the price would be less. Don't get me wrong I certainly do not use the 407 and the whole deal of how it was built and where we are now turns my stomach. But there must be a reason why they charge so much. Greed is probably part of it...

When is it time to get another bike?

The old equation of n+1 is the go to when asking about getting another bike.

    Hwy 407 question.

I would think that if the 407 was used as much as a normal highway the tolls would be normal as well. The American toll system must have been calculated for the amount of users. If that's the case with the 407 than the tolls per user are about correct. But I've been known to not think straight.

What are your 2 picks of different styled bikes?

I think my Vmax is good for short distances and would be well matched with a street glide for a bit of touring. Adv bikes don't do it for me.

    Kijiji people are evil

Banks don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash on hand. You're not the only person who could drop in and ask for in excess of 10k in addition to many people who just cash their paycheck. There are rules for the branches to not have excess cash at anytime. You really think they...

    Favorite internet haunts?

I generally look for forums that relate to my projects. Garage journal, good forum for things related to garages and almost anything to do with them, kz riders, I'm restoring a 77 kz650 with my son, orange tractor talk, I have an old Kubota that's fun to tinker on. Vmax forum for my old...

Where to buy motorcycle jacket hangers?

Maybe go by some shops to see if they can give you a few? I suppose there must be people who buy the jackets and not take the hanger.

License plate sticker renewal after lapse

I've heard that the police have a camera set up in their cruisers that read your plates as you drive by. Their computer tells them if your plate is expired, in which case they pull you over. A buddy of mine had an auto shop and the cops would sit along the side of the road out front and hit...

    Drivetest Current State/ Covid booking

You can schedule an appointment over the phone. Wait until later in the evening(its automated). My son had to finish up his G and his training school said they were booking in January but we asked if we could schedule the appointment and they were happy with that. They didn't have to pay...

    How often do you ride?

I'd like to ride more. Right now it's 1+ times a week, trying to go for least 300kms. The Vmax 1200 seat is pretty uncomfortable so that limits the enjoyment to about an hour or so before a break. Work and chores don't help either. Vacation I'm looking forward to. Plan on riding everyday...

    Seat comfort

The seat on my Vmax is horrible. I just got it back on the road (after an extra long sleep) this spring and have about 3k worth of rides on it. I've been hoping that it's kind of like a bicycle seat- you get used to it. Not so yet. There's a slightly used Corbin seat specific to the Vmax...

    Howdy from Pickering

Youve probably taken care of this. But that manometer your buddy has may work fine with restrictors in the tubes. The gauges are usually too jumpy without some restrictors in place. The gauges should have come with restrictors. If you have the tools you can make up some restrictors with...

    New , Old guy

We're planning on a cottage country ride. From the Simcoe county area through to Ottawa and also up north to Sudbury and beyond. We're just not sure when. Lockdown has made having lunch awkward. Eating pizza or having a coffee in a parking lot standing beside your bike doesn't make for a good...

    New , Old guy

Thanks for the welcomes! Ask away! I'd like to help anyone who's willing to work on their bike. To me it's part of the whole motorcycling experience. Not necessarily repairing them all the time but I enjoy doing my own service and maintenance.

    New , Old guy

Hi All, new to the forum, lurked for the past few months. I'm middle aged, rode from 18 to about 34. My wife and I rode together for about 10 years before having kids and letting life get in the way. The bikes were stored knowing it would only be a matter of when we'd be back on the road...
