    Boat insurance holey @#%@...

I've had all kinds of boats at the cottage since I was a kid with a rowboat. Nothing bigger than a 7.5 though. I do have a skidoo with no guts, just a trolling motor on a mount I made. Last year the neighbour died and I bought his pontoon boat. I guess I finally need to buy insurance and...

    No chinese lanterns this year?

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

My neighbour's cat has been keeping the chipmunk population in control, but I still have squirrel issues. My fault for having bird feeders I guess. I finally rigged them so they can't lift them and drop them on the ground. It also helps to prevent the trash pandas from doing the same, but one...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I wonder if that's what I have on my face then. It's been a few years and always looks worse in the summer. I thought I had splashed some acid on my face in the lab, but maybe I got into some of that; I know there's some around our neck of the woods.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

It itches like crazy and burns a bit. I was cleaning some out of a field and stopped to take a leak. I though I had been wearing gloves the whole time, but I must have gotten some on my hands at some point.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Years ago I was working on a job and we had about a yard of concrete extra. The foreman told the operator to put it in his truck, and he'd haul it up to his cottage a few miles away where he had a spot for it. (makes me wonder if he planned the extra yard) That's about 4000 pounds in a normal...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Mine works just fine if you remove the filter. It has a built-in bypass when the filter's removed. I was pretty pumped when I found that as the filters were needing to be replaced every few weeks.

    Mega firewood

A lot of the splitters can be set up vertically so you would only need to roll the sections onto it, rather than trying to lift large rounds up onto the deck.

    Ryerson renamed TMU

When the built the new high school in Brockville, they were going to call it the Thousand Island Technical School. They changed "Technical" to "Secondary" for some reason.

Summoned for Jury Selection / Duty

From my recollection, all three were charged, but the one I was there for was determined to have been the instigator and/or worst offender. I believe the others got charged with lesser offences. I think their trial had already occurred.

When's the next party? I'll bring my world famous baked beans (veggie style for your wife).

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I'm not sure I agree with your argument BMD. If I can keep my battery at 20 - 30 % every night, I can just as easily keep it at 80 - 90%. It all depends on your starting point.

Summoned for Jury Selection / Duty

No, a three on one in the women's can. A lot of time spent in the jury room while things were discussed without us there. It was a pretty serious charge from what I recall, and a pretty severe beating. Three girls tying up a stall smoking and the victim needed to go pee.

Summoned for Jury Selection / Duty

Years ago I was asked and said it would be awkward at this time as I still had students in the lab. They granted a deferral as I said I would be available a month later, after term ended. I was pretty much Juror Candidate 1 and was chosen with no questions. An assault case from one of the...

    No more license stickers…

$564 for me. My understanding is you need to renew, but don't need/get stickers.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I had to do that years ago when lightning took out one leg of power at the cottage. Called Hydro one and they said "no problem, we'll turn your power off and on up to x times a year for free". I said "Great. do it next Wednesday morning and turn it back on in the afternoon". They said they'd...

    Keeping things moving

****. I've been off the interwebs all weekend and log in this morning and find this. Sorry for your loss, Ric. I know we've never met, but it you want a break sometime, I've got a cottage with 75 acres of land you're welcome to borrow for a few days. Lyndsay

    Two for pricing

The worse situation I feel is when you buy the large size (not two for) figuring that it will be cheaper and it's not. I have a large family, so it made sense to buy the litre of ketchup for instance and you'd assume it was cheaper per ounce than buying the 500 ml or 750 ml, but it wasn't...
