Yet another shooting in the USA - 2

Think about it - for the average civilian who carries a concealed handgun, no one will be any wiser to that fact, including the psychopath shooting people around you. The first thing you're going to do is run for cover or concealment. From there, you can assess the situation and engage, if possible, or retreat further gun drawn or not. Better to have & not need or decide not to use, than need & not have. Target practice, paintball or airsoft - the more training, the better your chances of success......and survival. When seconds count, police are only minutes away.

From the perspective of the psychopath shooting, there's a bunch of civilians running for cover in every direction that he's trying to shoot. The chance that the psycho will see you draw from cover or concealment in a crowd is pretty remote. That psycho will be looking for uniformed officers & engage them instead. Should you play it safe, keep it holstered & remain defenseless if getting shot is imminent? IMO, a civilian has a huge tactical advantage - stealth - psychos can't cover every joe around them. In addition, how much training does the average psycho have. This all applies to other violent criminals as well. It's why the concept of CCW is so brilliant.....stealth, shock & awe.

At Dawson College, police, who happened to be in the school attending to another matter, were able to intervene and prevent more deaths. Had they not been there, more students would have been injured & killed. If you want to save lives, an immediate response is required.

I thought it was all about deterrance. I guess not.

I like this guy:
“He kicked the door and as soon as he got inside, it was all over,” Jones told WLWT-TV.

“I was hoping another one would come up – I aimed right for his heart,”

“Was I scared? Was I mad? Hell no,” Jones told the Enquirer.

Never mess with a vet, that's just disrespectful.

Thanks for the lovely read. It makes me feel there is justice in this world after reading things like...
