If it was just the US voluntarily withdrawing from NATO.. and Canada staying in NATO.. I don't think would be an issue.. at least immediately. BUT.. NATO disbanding and a new coalition forming without the US.. The US is not going to take kindly to that coalition being right next door.
Rubio has been running all over central and South America.. warning everyone about cozying up to anyone other than the US...
We've heard Trump's people.. the folks behind.. or.. controlling him.. mention the Monroe Doctrine multiple times..
I don't think that coalition would even form.. I think if it came to that even being discussed.. The US would shut it down long before it was formed.

The only peace they can get, is whether: capitulating to russia which sets even more precendents to take more or for Russia to gtfo back to where they came from and leaving them alone.

The Monroe doctrine is a US doctrine that, IMO, is a valid as me saying you can't have a dog on your property unless you live more than 20 miles from me. BUT it's OK for me to have a dog on my property next to yours because we have an "understanding".
The world reaction to Trump's tariff tantrums may have more than a few Amurican MAGAs thinking about how great they ever really were.

Problem is, they bring the coolest house warming gifts, birthday presents, biggest beer kegs etc etc etc.
I was absolutely shocked today to learn the population of Russia is only 144.8 million. For comparison the U.S is just over 340 million and the rest of Europe is about 500 million. Unfortunately they have the largest stockpile of nukes. No wonder they’ve depleted their military manpower. I wonder how much longer they can continue this campaign. They must be looking for a way out of this that allows them to save face.
Look at the GDP for more shocks less than Canada's. Or approx 1/4 per capita. Military spending has to be half of GDP.

Recent footage from front-lines has shown russian forces using scooby-doo vans, civilian cars, using donkeys to help transport supplies, sending injured soldiers on crutches back out into the field, etc. Ukraine has made a few successful counterattacks lately near Pokrovsk - thus far pretty small, but it's a start. Pokrovsk is the area where the russians have been focusing on lately. Elsewhere, things have been mostly static. Meanwhile, Ukraine has been sending drones out to set oil refineries and distribution points on fire inside russia. (What air defence doing?)
I don't think Putin has been supplied with correct information. Hasn't been the whole time, still isn't. Anyone who dares to tell him bad news, had better be careful about stairwells, windows, and tea. So, he probably isn't looking for a way out of this.
