Why Android is better than iPhone.

I think a new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition should be released this month.
With new tech.

Looks like Oct 10 launch for the US, Canada can't be far behind. $550 price tag.

Truly impressive tablet from the reviews. Looks to me like it can do so much more than the iPad. The addition of the stylus is neat too.

Unless Apple pulls one out of the hat with the next iPad refresh (not likely), this Sammy looks to be the one to get.

I have my note and love it. It will be interesting to see what the new note has. The surface 2 pro is looking awesone. It comes with 32gb, 64, 128, 256, 512 and it comes with 8gb ram that's impressive, but expensive.

Well i got my Chromecast today. Its cool, can't touch the Apple TV, but it should grow.
Only today they announced Hulu Plus App for Android and iOS got an update, that will add an icon(like airplay) in the app to allow streaming.
Can't wait for more Apps to add such function.

Oh and it makes sense to buy this if you were in the market for a charger for your device(2 in 1).
$35 for Chromecast.

I have the baby brother to that receiver vsx-823k (5.1 vs 7.1) with airplay that thing is awesome. the internet radio on it is awesome too how ever they don't have indie 88 on it yet, i either use my WD Live tv with tune in radio or my iPhone or iPad with tune in radio via airplay. Also can control it with the iPhone or iPad over the network. The iPod control is great too, I plug my iPod mini in and control it with the iPhone or the remote. Analog is a little confusing though. if you want to display on analog tv (like i needed to for the Wii) you have to set the CD input to digital (it's preset to analog).

Only have a couple HDMI items, have an HDMI switch on the output because I don't always wanna use the projector, so for playing music I output to a computer monitor

One more reason why judging phones, or any technology, based on spec sheets is sheer silliness.

Specs are only good for showing off, the actual experience is what matters

[h=1]AirPlay mirroring on Android showcased by Cyanogen’s Koush[/h]
Well-known developer Koushik “Koush” Dutta, part of the Cyanogen Inc team, has managed to obtain a working AirPlay mirroring concept for Android, which he has demoed in a short video.
As you can see in the following video clip, Koush was able to mirror the HTC One to a Nexus 10 tablet, and while there is some lag, the experience certainly looks interesting
However, an even more interesting use of such a feature would be to connect an Android smartphone and/or tablet to a TV that’s hooked up to an Android PC stick.
That way, Android fans would be able to also enjoy a feature that’s available on iOS devices – AirPlay – which lets iOS device owners mirror the screen of those gadgets with the help of a TV connected to an Apple TV.
This isn’t the first time Koush shows interest in streaming the content on an Android device to a bigger screen. Not so long ago, the developer managed to bypass the Chromecast restrictions and to play local content on a TV connected to a Chromecast device. However, his app was blocked by a Google update for the streaming device.

All that said, Koush is yet to release an app that would let users enjoy AirPlay mirroring on Android, but he did say right at the end of the video that this will come to CyanogenMod “pretty soon.”

Poor Galaxy S4 battery life and swelling up issues? Free replacements offered by Samsung

galaxy-s4-battery-life-s4-hardware.jpg

Samsung has apparently confirmed that it will offer free battery replacements to Galaxy S4 owners that experience certain battery life issues with their batteries including battery swelling.
In a to a comment issued to Trusted Reviews, Samsung acknowledged the problem, saying that only a “limited number of customers” are affected:
We are aware of this issue, which has affected a limited number of customers.
We ask all affected customers to please visit their nearest Samsung Electronics service centre, where they can receive a replacement battery for free of charge. We remain committed to providing the best possible user experience for our customers.
However, some reports claim that the actual number of affected Galaxy S4 units is actually larger than one would expect. MobiFlip reported a few days ago that as many as 30% of Galaxy S4 units purchased from a German provider have faulty batteries, saying that it has obtained is information from an insider familiar with the matter. An actual number of affected buyers is not mentioned in the report, and Samsung will probably not mention it either – after all, it’s bad press as it is that a six-month smartphone already experiences battery problems that shouldn’t appear in new devices.

For some reason, these faulty batteries are not able to hold a charge anymore, with some of them swelling up – this is a common security practice for batteries in electronic devices, although it’s not everyday you hear about this happening to a mobile device.
The image above shows the difference between a regular Galaxy S4 battery and one that has swollen up (on the right). That said, we’re interested whether you have been affected by such Galaxy S4 battery issues yourself, and whether you have received a free replacement from Samsung.
