Why Android is better than iPhone.

Re: Jelly Bean is here

Lmao...8gb sold out,

Just ordered my Sharp SH-02E :)

I wouldnt be laughing too hard. Google Nexus will be here to stay.

SHARP is on the brink of bankruptcy. They are looking to the government to save them. They are hemorraging major dollars. Dell and Intel might acquire them.

I can post links up, but you can do your own research.

This is why they need to hire shoeless 7 year olds in backwards countries to pump out these phone 24/7.

Re: Jelly Bean is here

So I recently made the switch to a GS3 from being with iPhones since the 3G.

This phone is great, handles a lot more like a pc very customizable widgets are cool still learning all it can do.

However the email and calendar system is a big step down from the iPhone.. these droids don't seem to make very good business phones to the point where I am almost considering returning it. The built in GMail app is not very intuitive and the way it pushes emails to notifications on the phone is not nearly as good as the iPhone, perhaps someone can recommend me a 3rd party email app?

The biggest let down is there seems to be no way to sync .ics and other meeting invites sent through email, the iphone would automattically put meeting minutes in your calander you didn't even have to open the email containing it... I did some searching on the net and it seems there is no way to automatically sync meeting invites to your calendar? I use the S planner, but google calendar doesn't work either..

I am KINDA ok with the Gmail App, but the Calendar system is hard, i dont even see a way of switching an event to a different calendar(didn't check to see if business calendar does this)???...so after your rant i decided to go look for a better solution, and found Business calendar free and Pro, which i absolutely like now, very customizable and list view on calendar...i see pro does .ics, not sure if free does.

I got a 16GB. I was holding out for a BB 10 but the price was too good to pass up. I used an Android app on my phone to notify me when the N4 was back in stock. Worked like a charm.

Re: Jelly Bean is here

Hi guys, just got an unlocked Droid handset, what is the best way to get it hooked up with my carrier? Online? Carrier outlet?
- I'm with Rogers :(
- my contract is locked up until end 2013 :(
- I currently have a Blackberry :(

I popped my Sim in and the Droid works, internet, texts and phone calls, so I need to get hooked up for the updates, features, etc.

Any advice?

Re: Jelly Bean is here

Just went on an ebay rampage

Got samsung MHL adapter to use the phone to watch videos on TV. For me this is sick since I give a lot of presentations on the fly.

I was using my tablet with a microsd card before. But being able to do similar with my phone. Man that's priceless.

Those 100,000 thread views were investors, reading your posts. It's the SunnY effect.

How does it feel to single-handedly bring down the world's most capitalised corporation?

Re: Jelly Bean is here

Not a full list but here are some of the reasons, and these are well known:

-They have done well in the past growing on "new" products in "new" market segments. The idea well appears to be empty to many. Maybe they have the next new big thing coming, many investors just don't see it.
-The competition seems to be increasing marketshare more than most investors expected. There have been some big announcements/contracts from the competition lately. This highlights a possible (maybe big) loss in marketshare coming.

Long term:
-They do not control manufacturing (outsourced to other companies), they are in frivolous IP lawsuits against many of the companies that actually make their products. These manufacturers have their own product lines that are selling well and have good growth, therefore they may no longer "need" to make for Apple. Once current contracts expire they (and the investors) may not like the new terms, this will hit the margins.

totally understand your situation, the Nexus 4 is a smokin phone in huge demand. Currently, its the only Android phone that gets me excited. But I have lots of time to see how BB10 pans out before making the switch.

Hopefully, it won't take 100,000 views for people to finally realize the benefits of winter tires. All this convincing is hard work. :)
