Why Android is better than iPhone.

Why am I pathetic? Using your phone while driving is a good way to kill someone, just anyone that had a loved one killed because some POS had to play with their phone while driving. So what I can get from your post is you use your phone while driving, and you say I am pathetic, really, really? Dude if that is what you do, then you're not pathetic, you're scum.

Speeding kills people too, but of course you don't do that. I was using an example of the way someone could NOT take their eyes off the road and use VOICE commands to SAFELY call or text someone.

I'm scum..... ok then.

EX-APPLE ENGINEER: 'Almost Everything That Apple Does That Involves The Internet Is A Mess'

:laughing3:

In support of this view, Gibson cites several examples:

iCloud, née MobileMe, née .Mac, has only ever been adequate at best. I’ve heard (or been victim to) countless stories of duplicate or lost contacts, calendar syncing errors, or email downtime.

Apple can’t update its online store without taking it offline first.

A popular Game Center game was able to bring down the entire network.

Apple requires you to re-friend everyone on Game Center, Find my Friends, and Shared Photostreams.

Notes requires an email account to sync.

The iTunes and App Stores are still powered by WebObjects, a mostly dead framework written almost 20 years ago.

iMessage for Mac lives in an alternate dimension in which time has no ordered sequence.

Ping.

Wow, if thats true, this will fix the biggest "flaw" of this phone.

This is THE android device of all android devices. Im not sure why anybody would buy a G3 anymore?

Well the S3 is more readily available, the Nexus 4 8gb is going for $440ish on kijiji. Google is still sold out too.

exactly this, i would buy a nexus 4 if it was available.. however as it stands I need a phone so I have to decide between the S3.. note 2.. or that HTC, probably will come down to which one feels the best in stores.

If you want a phone that kills all of those check out the Sharp SH-02E, comes out on the 29th.

Had the One X, sold it yesterday. Wasn't happy with it all, I listed some reasons why on an earlier post. I do think that the build quality and design is nicer than a S3 though.

The S3 is on sale today until the 26th, 1 cent for the 16GB, and the 32GB should be $50 on a 3 yr term. I would definitely suggest the 32GB, even though you can drop in a SD card, which you will still need to spend money on anyways.

When i got the S3, i had an early upgrade fee of $156 x 2(upgrading 2 phones), which i had Rogers 50% off both....just in case anyone wanted to know.

The word is that the Nexus 4 will be available again "in about 2 weeks".

At $309 canadian, and now with LTE availability in Canada, this phone is an absolute steal.

I read somewhere that Bell (likely others will follow) dropped it to 1 cents because of the Nexus 4 threat, and they'd really rather lock you into a 3 year plan.

16mp camera with both optical and electronic stabilization (I know, mp is not everything), IZGO screen (ultra low power), water/dust proof, 100mbps LTE capable, and more that I can't read (Japanese).

Figured as much.

A smartphone is much more than a list of specs. Everything has to work well together, especially the software. You can have a phone with a hexacore processor, 10gb ram, 50mp camera, 1000ppi screen. At the end of the day, the phone will likely be a POS. The Canon 7D, a highend prosumer camera has only 18mp, and cameras period have stopped playing the megapixel game. I'm sure you know that, just pointing it out how useless it is on a phone with a tiny sensor. 100mbps LTE, on what network? Fido/Rogers maxes out at ~35mbps if the stars are aligned, realistically, closer to 20mbps. Will probably go downhill as the LTE network gets more congested.

The biggest thing is the software, the software has to be designed well and has future support from the manufacturer. The biggest and best specs do jack all if the software is a POS, and more often than not, it is. Considering this phone ships with ICS this late in the game, it's safe to say that you're unlikely to get future software updates from the manufacturer, and don't get me started on custom ROM's.

If anything, it's simply a testbed for Sharp to sell the IZGO screen to other manufacturers.

DO NOT buy a smartphone based on specs, buy it on the experience. Android/iOS/BB whatever your pick is, hardware specs don't mean much if the complete product sucks.
