Why Android is better than iPhone.

You have a few posts blindly praising apple on every page this 122 page thread. Who's the nerd?

the guys comparing spec sheets and talking about "custom rigs" obviously

Apple is for people who enjoy a quality product... not for nerds who are obsessed with spec sheets and "megahurtz" and features that don't actually have a use in the real world (yet) like nfc.

You just use the right tool for the right job. I get paid to do 'nerd stuff'. I have a mbp for programming and a speced out pc for 3d rendering, modelling, 3d scanning. A netbook for each 3d printer. each serves a task. Pound for pound dollar for dollar the pc is faster and more stable, but the mac is just a better experience. When it's not beachballing it's core i7 ssd self. I use android because that suits my needs as well. Have an iphone for app development. Would frustrate me to no end to use that as a daily phone though. None of the apps have file level access and thus can't talk to eachother. My nerd **** is happy that my dropbox connects to my ftp. does someone else need to do that? Wtf do I care, I need to. Use whatever you want.

Of course NFC is not a 'need' right now, its a luxury (see what i did there:lmao:)

But if the technology is being spread out onto the market, its because there are pioneers that actually show how it can be used and include it as a technology.
As it was said in a video earlier on this post (video bout Guy Kawasaki), you dont ask the customer what he needs, you deliver it to him.
Why do you think banks are starting to rush to get an NFC wallet asap? They want to be the first to grab the tech as they see a future in it. And i think apple saw a future in it too and thats why theyll be following the wave, not initiating it

Apple will help make it more popular and more widespread on the market!

Yeah NFC is totally necessary right now because its in use like, EVERYWHERE

nerd problems

We know it's not in use with apple lmao, but if I want to use it with friends that have android then it's necessary. Your response is typical of someone that can't accept apple technology is lagging behind other manufacturers, but we know of course ios6 will change all that, just like ios5 did ha aha, oh wait they did come out with icloud, doesn't matter that it was a couple yrs after Microsoft come out with cloud, hahahaha.

A luxury hahahahaha that was good, but becareful because apple invented the word luxury, they may take you to court and stop you from saying it.

For all of you NFC freaks out there......i would choose bluetooth 4.0 over NFC anyday.

take the time to read both articles....you will learn a thing or two.

One-tap hookup
Another convenience newer forms of Bluetooth brings is compatibility with NFC chips. Both Bluetooth versions 3.0 and 4.0 can talk to NFC hardware in phones and laptops to make pairing a simple process of tapping the two devices together. So you can imagine configuring Wi-Fi settings on mobile gadgets just by resting them on NFC equipped routers or hooking up headsets with tablets and phones in the same manner. For example, Motorola's new Elite Sliver headset already has this NFC pairing ability. Frankly the idea setting up a gadget this fast gives me goosebumps.

As Gil notes, that’s a huge lost sales opportunity that could be addressed with using Bluetooth Low Energy, because it would increase global demand from retailers looking to replace their registers with Bluetooth 4.0 equipped Macs, iPads, iPod Touches and iPhones.
The genius of this plan? It’s already deployed. There’s no need to find room in every iPhone for an extra chip, or wait for other companies to get their act together about NFC and actually get it into stores. Because Apple has been deploying Bluetooth 4.0 equipped devices since mid-2011, all Apple really needs to do to suddenly become a mobile payment company is go on stage at WWDC next month, officially announced iOS 6 and then say:”BAM! iWallet! It’s here… and your iPhone 4S isalready capable of it!”
Makes sense to us. Look at what Google’s going through with Google Wallet, a thoroughly stalled NFC initiative for Android. People have been talking about NFC for years, and yet it’s still not even close to taking off. If Apple’s really going to enter mobile payments, doesn’t using a technology that embraces Apple’s own retail philosophy, helps sell more Macs and uses technology you already have in your pocket make a lot more sense?

The only reason you would choose Bluetooth over NFC is because your apple garbage isn't NFC compatible, and by the time crapple starts implementing NFC, it will be out dated and something else will be in place. Apple will never catch the other manufacturers in technology, they have proven it over and over again, and iOS 6 won't touch Jelly Bean

I think you both are comparing apples to oranges. NFC is a simple chipset that requires no bateries to be used by the smartphone, that say, bluetooth can be used for data transfer more efficiently, etc. etc. Why would I choose one or the other is just mmm wrong, the best would be to use both of this worlds.

If I can have an app to set my phone to office mode, volume, email, etc etc by simply scanning a tiny chipset I am happy, if I can have a headset that quickly connects to my phone for music n last long without draining battery I am also happy.

I honestly don't get why would you compare NFC n bluetooth, so many different approach for either one of them is pointless to not want to get your hands on both.

MY PHONE HAS CHIPS I WILL USE 5 YEARS FROM NOW TO BUY GROCERIES

This thread has gone full retard.

i agree with you....and i do believe Apple will be adding NFC, and will also have Bluetooth 4.0....so win.

^^ nice gadget! useful for a bunch of different stuff!

yeah ive been looking at it for a while, it will give my 3-y old 40 inch a new life!

yeah, i seen this a few days ago, but brushed it off. Decided to read it today.

i will definitely be getting one for sure, and they state it will receive jelly bean(a big +).
Plus XBMC was just ported to Android last week, they have plex for now.

An august release date too. Finally i can have Android in my household, on the big screen.

I am looking forward to a Pro version though(october).

Im happy that the OS has matured enough now to be enjoyed by more people who arent as tweaky, techy as people like me!
Older OS's like Gingerbread/Froyo, etc didnt stand a chance...
Theyve really smoothened it out!

How long till we see a Nexus Q knockoff with more functionality? (AND CHEAPER FFS! LOL)
