rim has/had a very loyal user base, who were very patient with them as they went through their struggles.
pretty obvious that the last announcement of another delay in releasing bb10 is the straw that broke the camel's back.
i think even the most optimistic bb fan will probably admit that rim as we know it is done.
she downloaded an app thats "crap" and it has ads like thatone thing that keeps happening to my girlfriend, she keeps getting alert spam on her phone telling her to down load updates to enhance her phone... but they cost money. this isn't spam inside an app, it's in the regular phone workings (email/txt/surfing). at least the ads in the apps on my iPhone aren't showing up as system messages designed to confuse the gullible.

there are different ways to get it to stop by refusing certain ad agreements and theyll stop , or otherwise delete the crap app (usually the simplest solution)
often times if you read the comment on the app before downloading it people will tell you if you get shizza with the app
its happened to me in the past but ive been careful ever since and havent had any issue
Nexus 7....... only $199
"This is the Android tablet you've been waiting for. Beautiful, detailed display. Handsome design and fantastic build quality. Jelly Bean feels like it was built for the Nexus 7. The first 7-inch quad core tablet, it has Porsche-like speed and agility."

No wonder Apples rushing out a mini Ipad.
.
^ last year you were laughing at people for saying RIM was going down...
 hows your RIM doing now
This is in the end a religious argument so there is no winning. For me, my house is apple free. The reasons are simple, the actions of the company are not what I want to support.
-They are making their products in sweatshops where people kill themselves.
-They willfully use blood precious metals in their products.
-They are suing everyone in sight to try and protect market share (basically for steeling IP they stole from someone else).
-They do whatever they can do to be a closed system that they and only they control.
-the list goes on and on.
In the end they have become significantly worse than the companies (company) they claimed to be the alternative to. They claim to be taking measures to stop the sweatshops and blood metals yet it still happens, so how hard are they really trying?
They are the monsters of the corporate world these days with a following that blindly ignores the evils, for me it is entirely an ethical argument. Shiney features, flashy cases, etc. do not factor in.
Of course many of the alternatives are no better, but they are also not claiming a hippy counter culture alternative to the evil world.

Here's the full Foxconn customer list. Might want to make a pass through the house with a garbage bag.
Major customers of Foxconn currently include:
- Acer Inc. (Taiwan)[SUP][39][/SUP]
- Amazon.com (United States)[SUP][7][/SUP]
- Apple Inc. (United States)[SUP][40][/SUP]
- Cisco (United States)[SUP][41][/SUP]
- Dell (United States)[SUP][42][/SUP]
- Hewlett-Packard (United States)[SUP][43][/SUP]
- Intel (United States)[SUP][44][/SUP]
- Microsoft (United States)[SUP][9][/SUP]
- Motorola Mobility (United States)[SUP][42][/SUP]
- Nintendo (Japan)[SUP][45][/SUP]
- Nokia (Finland)[SUP][40][/SUP]
- Samsung Electronics (South Korea)[SUP][46][/SUP]
- Sony (Japan)[SUP][8][/SUP]
- Toshiba (Japan) [SUP][47][/SUP]
- Vizio (United States)[SUP][48][/SUP]
And any of those that also fit in to ALL my other points (sweat shop is just one of many actually) we do not buy from, so far it is pretty much just Apple.
You think Foxconn has a sweatshop factory for just Apple's line of products, and another group of factories where the workers are trated like spa patrons making everyone else's products? Uh, ok.
I can't remember the exact phrase, but it has something to do with getting off the pot. You either support bad labour practices or you don't. Boycotting one manufacturer you dislike (mostly on preconceived notions from their marketing) based on their supplier's labour practices and purchasing from another manufacturer when they use the same labour force working under the same conditions is not only disingenuous, but laughable.
Can't, we did already. I will if its a new 2012 issue and onward.waiting for the Apple Sheeple to chime...Poser...Poser...
just got my first bb ever today. curve 9320, $150 from mobilicity. got ****ing sick of stupid touchscreens, i actually hate them all now and probably will never go back, i don't even know how i put up with it. i had iphone, then nokia, then android, then nokia again. i hated itunes, so didn't want apple. nokia is a whole nuther set of issues. keypad for the win and that is it for me now. it browses and blahblahs and that's all i want. bb is the only phone with a decent keypad. if apple made one, i'd probably give it a shot. if that keypad goes, there is no hope for someone like me and i think i'm not alone. i'm imagining there's people out there thought would rather pound out text with two thumbs than dance around with their pinky.
the phones are not the stock or the company. rim may not last, but their components will. enterprise stuff will get scooped by ibm or cisco. other bs will get grabbed by google or apple. the service will live on.
anyway, i don't go to any of the churches of smartphones.
