Whose riding tomorrow?

I need a new tire or else i would have been out this week for sure it's gorgeous weather, +8 this morning. The roads around here are bone dry with hardly any salt on them. The usual nay-sayers on here always chime with the negative crap because they are probably just jealous because they don't have a garage and have to store their bikes in winter and have no choice. Or they really are just huge alternate word for kitties.;)

Not at all jealous and my bikes are in MY garadge all ready for when the rain washes the salt off the road, the tracks open, and they let me back in the ganny. After 10 years the novelty of just putting around (all you can do on a bike with actual hp in this weather) wears off. Riding on the road is just my fix till I can get on the track and actually ride or get in the forest. If I had a pos that I didn't care about I'd ride in +8, did a track day in 6deg weather. So before you start calling "naysayers" pussies, look at why we make the choice to not ride. Here's a hint, it's not the temperature.

i will be out this weekend. Been weeks since we saw any significant snow and many days of rain since has washed any salt/deicer away.
The upcoming weekend looks to be great weather with low temps of 4c and highs up to atleast 10c

you guys are nuts for riding in this kinds of weather!!!
so NOT cool!

Nuts for riding in 5-10 degree weather?
I would assume you are the June till August rider then? So NOT Cool! :D

Says a guy (jeffjones)who rides a $50 11 year old beater cbr.

Let me guess, another broke student? LOL

No wonder you guys go out and ride in winter. ha ha

Come on now, there is no sense in putting down other people to make yourself feel good.
People ride what they can afford/like.
Not because you ride a duc. that you can talk down to people. + it's a monster for FFS.
I personally don't ride in this kind of weather but I don't have anything against anyone who does.
People enjoy different things on different levels. To each their own.

I am putting them down because they are always acting macho for riding in winter, and then call others pussies.

When I was a student I took the ttc. :)

I went out twice yesterday. The rain held off in the evening, so I went to grab a burrito from Burrito Boyz. Completely different experience than riding in the summertime, but I was just happy to be riding... The guy at the gas station said I was insane lol. The weather was great, but I do understand why some would only want to ride in summer. My only concern is the salt from the few puddles I couldn't avoid, but I wiped down my bike when I got home.

I just can't resist taking every opportunity to go for a ride, it is my first bike =D

Actually its called a 1st bike (Sorry I didn't buy it brand new 125 or buy a bike up to YOUR standards) I'm sure there are 100 ways to put down your bike as well but I don't, And I'm not riding my bike because it is in storage an hour away from my place.
I was just mentioning that what is nuts about riding in almost double digit temperatures? ...Oh becuase the calendar says I can't.

So where was I acting Macho and calling people pussies???

As you can see some people feel macho riding there bikes on clear, warm and dry winter days and others feel they have to hide behind a keyboard trying to put other people down.

Don't get caught up in this guy's views. He and a couple others make sure to post in all threads dealing with winter riding. They all seem to have forgotten the pure joy in just riding. I kind of feel sorry for them. Keep riding when you want on what you want. Let the naysayers post while you ride.... :)

There are a couple of people around here (and it's pretty obvious who they are) that judge everyone and everything by their narrow experiences. Frankly, it's pretty offensive.

If all someone has to say is how f'd up other people are for their choices, I'd prefer they just shut the hell up.

I don't ride in winter because I have options and I don't like getting my bike filthy and I don't like to take the risk of having to ride in snow. But, I used to ride well into winter and get back on very early too. Because I liked riding and I had few pleasant options.

I'd rather ride in crappy (not snowing, but cold and wet and filthy) weather than take transit. I haven't had to since I was 18 because I've been priveleged to have alternate means of transportation that I preferred.

But I'm certainly not going to make fun of someone who either can't afford my lifestyle or life choices, or enjoys riding in crappy weather more than I do.

I just think they're unwise to ride in snow. Other than that, do what you like and enjoy and tell the critics to take a flying F at a rolling doughnut.

Just got back from my ride, it was awesome! Got to rest out my Gopro 2 Like I have been wanting to do since I got it in January.

I tried the timing shot mode, the shutter speed is nice and fast!

Notice the semi clear roads, and I wasn't even wearing a scarf. My chin was only a litle cold, and my hands were fine pretty much the entire time. Oh I missed riding my bike, I have a new carb to boot, just have to wait for some warm weather for proper jetting then its time to BRAAAAAAAP!!!!

To those that are riding now, ride safe.

To those that aren't...springs coming around the corner.

/thread.

Only had a half day today so I took the bike out for a spin. I knew the temp was going to drop quickly so I geared up and went out as soon as I got home.

Totally satisfying! I haven't ridden in over a month and today put a huge smile on my face.

Also got to test my new mic (Zoom H1). Vid posted here http://youtu.be/uCBDVjAA9LE

I can't read this whole thread, but I rode on 31st from 9pm to 11pm, then on 1st from 3pm to 7pm, and now today from 8pm to 5 minutes ago. All I can say is that a sweater, leather jacket with liner, heated grips---I'm all good baby :) The roads are clear, and there is no salt. I repeat--NO SALT. Ask me how I know? My tires are black after the ride. Cheers and ride safe!

Where is there no salt? Out in Durham and the 401 from Mississauga to Oshawa the asphalt is white.
