Iget those multifunction voltmeter, like 12 bucks on ebay, has two temp sensor in and outside, clock and voltmeter... works really good.
I find the best gadget on a bike is actually a voltmeter, if you like to see temperature as well, get those multifunction voltmeter, like 12 bucks on ebay, has two temp sensor in and outside, clock and voltmeter... works really good.
its a great inspiration to ride as doing that many kms on 2012 bike is incredible. you must have practicaly lived on your bike. keep up the good work.Yeah I ride a lot. Commuting, weekend rides, trips, etc.
My 2006 DL650 V-Strom has over 202,000 km on it. I basically retired it when I bought the 2012, it is still licensed and insured but I haven't ridden it in a while.

I've seen those. How do you waterproof/mount it? Where do you put the temp sensor?
I've been giving the voltmeter idea some thought, especially as I'm on a smaller bike (Ninja 300), and I'm not sure what to expect in terms of battery drain from heated gear.
Might as well show my bike... anything just ask
I forgot exactly how much 300 has, but the 250 has about 100 watt average of extra wattage left from the stator output. U can expect quite a lot more output from the 300. You can install the voltmeter from the license plate light, just so if you burn the fuse its only the license light gets affected
Thanks for the tip. I've yet to find any information on the 300's spare power capacity. I've actually been carrying a full sized voltmeter in my backpack!
I use black vinyl tape to cover the buttons and any gaps, i think it looks better with the tape than without it, like a cleaner look. I tried to use clear silicone to seal it like those u use for windows but it didnt look good. The inside temp sensor sits inside the voltmeter and the outside sensor i stick it in the front fairing facing the wind so i know the windchill temp.
I saw someone commuting on the 407 this AM. They were westbound in the Baview to Bathurst area. I was quite a ways behind so couldn't see what kidn of bike and I am sure they didn't see me. I was pleasantly surprised to see someone else riding.. I haven't seen an other bikes for a couple of weeks or so.
