I literally did that…in my driveway. Stabilizer. Topped up the fuel. And let it run for a good 10-15min while I did yard work :(

Think I missed out on the last nice day of the year.
I was doing yard work and said screw this! Off I went....

Reminds me of my running group - there are always a few folks you would run during winter months in shorts with legs bare skin even if it’s -20C outside. I tried once and didn’t like the feeling LOL

That's me.

Well, except for the running part. lol

Was out playing around in the park for a bit Saturday

Trails were a little slick Saturday. Got out for an hour and a half. My buddy roosted me on purpose, then dumped it.

Karma!

Maybe we'll get another day in. I can hope, but I won't hold my breath.

60,000km,yikes! Even with my 2 month trip in the summer, i only did about 28,000km this year.

On my way home from work today I crossed over 60,000 km for 2022. Last year was 57,670 km for the year.

that's true hardcore. what bike do you have? what max mileage you run per bike?
just curious, maximum I had 40K in a year and the bike has more than 100K - was hard to sell (back many years ago)....

My last 4 bikes have been Suzuki V-Stroms.

2020 DL1050XA ,87,000+ miles 140,000+ km. \
2015 DL1000 146,000+ miles,235,000+ km **SOLD** .
2012 DL650 86,700+ miles,139,500+ km, Sold.
2006 DL650 125,500 miles,202,000 km, Sold.

I don't really worry about resale as I will keep riding them until something else turns my crank or until the bike wears out. My signature has my V-Stroms listed in it. Basically I keep riding a bike until I like what's next. None were ever worn out. Here is the list of V-Stroms I had since my first V-Strom in 2006. (BTW my first bike was a Honda 90 when I was 13.)

Bikes don't really wear out. I think riders wear out before the bikes do. Highest mileage V-Strom is a 2002 V-Strom DL1000 that was retired at 437,000 MILES. Ultimately taken over by a new owner who is aiming to reach 500,000 miles. Write up from the new owner here:

Thanks for the respond - see here V-Strom rules :)
Are you going to move to the new Pee-Strom now? Would be nice to hear your comparison review after you put 100K on it, based on your mileage we won't need to wait much LOL

The new V-Strom DL800de sounds like a great bike! For me the lack of cruise control and having tubed tires would stop me from getting it. If they offer a version with cruise and tubeless I would certainly consider it. I would have to ride it for sure as it is quite possible that, as much as I loved riding my 650's, I may have been seduced by the power of my 1050.

Right now my 2020 DL1050 only has 142,000 + km and only two and a half years old so (hopefully!) It would be a while before I would change bikes.

Heading back up to Owen Sound today in the van and will drop by the Forks early ...not really expecting to to see any riders given rain and gusts to 80 kph but it's a nice pit stop for coffee and a snack.
With the steep temperature drop later in the day gonna be very nasty.
Hope to be back home at 1 pm.

Where are you riding ? I thought OFTR closed the trails on Dec. 1.

Plan was to ride Southwood road, but as soon as I got off Hwy 11 and looked to the left at the stop sign towards the residential area I knew there was too much snow for me. Back tire was definitely slipping on the on-ramps and off ramps and overpasses… had to take it very slow and could have lost it a couple of times. Good thing as a dirt rider I am used to losing the backend. The highway could be very dry but as long as you get off it was a different story.

Rode to Gravenhurst then went back home and called it a day. Did manage to take this shot I have been thinking about for a while.
