Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2019 Edition)

Look a little north of the lake to get away from it's cooling effects...and it looks even better.

Gulf of Mexico visits Toronto - look at that flow of warm air

17 today ...half day touring distance 4 hours -..mid level gear - even bare hands for a bit. There was a bakery open in St Jacobs - had a cinnamon bun sitting outside in the sun - felt almost normal and then slabbed home.
Damn disinfectant gel tastes yuck...reminds self not to lick sticky fingers.
C3 noisier than I recall...going to switch back to the Shure earphones see if that helps tho can't use with the new phone. - have to revive the iPhone 5 for music and nav as it's dying

Cross wind kept blowing the empty side case open which caused interesting areodynamics at 130+. Finally got fed up and pulled over and locked it ...promptly got a scare from a tractor that looked like he was not going to have a enough room to get into surprisingly heavy traffic at old HWY6.
No trailer on so he had enough power to muscle in ....reminds self not to stop at end of acceleration ramps.

Guy behind me on a bagger of some sort was keeping pace then I saw something fly off his bike and a he took a quick swerve from the fast lane. Thought for a minute I'd dropped something but nothing loose. Hope he found it. Really quick glance might have been his spare beanie helmet.

Stopped by a motorcycle repair shop and had a quick safe distance chat ....would like to get the tt250 front brake sorted but he's jammed up ...just re-opened and has a backlog.

Not quite as planned rode with lighter gear than I should, decided to see the kids in Toronto and of course - it's colder near the lake and started to rain so slightly damp. Worth while tho have not seen either since February. Did the 6' conversation outside as were many many others.
Discovered my Honda jacket is not even remotely water resistant. Glad of the Madstat screen. Hands were just okay with medium gloves.

I headed out this morning with the little one riding pillion. 270km Back road loop. Around Campbellford both of us removed the liners from our jackets.
I would have done the same with my pants but we had company So I just stayed extra warm. We just picked up Kaitlyn a new motorcycle jacket at GP.
Nice little jacket. It can be hard to find kid size proper gear but this isn’t bad.
Booster is the make it has cheap armour but decent quality overall and hey it does have some armour. Removable liner, could use more vents. Has extendable sleeves to get an extra year maybe. Supposedly it’s water proof.
This jacket (not my kid)

Did just under 400KM again today. Again, packed a lunch so I didn't have to get stuck in line shoulder to shoulder with the "It's just a flu, stop being silly!" crowd at a restaurant somewhere.

Did have to stop at the Walmart in Belleville to use the bathroom however since that's about all that's open. On that topic, we're all being asked to use contactless payments whenever possible since touching debit keypads that are handled by thousands of others every day isn't the greatest thing to do right now. However, I'm looking at YOU, WalMart....can you please get with the 2000's and update your ******* outdated policies and turn on the contactless payment option on all the hardware in your stores that are perfectly capable of supporting it? Really irked me today to be cashing out (Needed something I'd forgot) in the self serve tills only to be directed to the "supervisors" till to cash out in person. No sneezeguard, basically 18" away from the lady scanning the stuff in my hands, and since tap payments are still beyond the ability of Walmart ( ) I had no choice but to finger the cesspool buttons on the debit terminal.

In unrelated news, Cobourg has setup public porta potties and a hand wash station downtown to help alleviate the lack of public bathrooms reality for the public - bravo.

What a day for a little run! Lots of bikes out, even up north :)

Here is my wandering route.

Made a pitstop in Dwight, was way too windy to stick around though

Another stop along HWY 60 In Algonquin, there were still some piles of snow here and there, roads were good though.

Seems we have a cold spell moving in solar vortex thingy, I'm sure people with better knowledge will post. Also heard it reported April was one of the coldest in years.

So who's riding??? Frinkin snow... I know this is temporary, but geezzh this is dragging out for FS.

Tomorrow. The snow is not melting but it is evaporating.

I was thinking about it as well, but I doubt the temps will be like they predicting and will be lower. More waiting...

Useless fact: When a solid turns directly to vapor it is called "subliminating"

I was out later in the day for a few hours when the two inches of snow we received sublimated.

and it just started snowing again here. I hope it kills all the black flies.

Happy to report the snow has completely sublimated here too (y)
and it might even still be cold enough that the bugs will not be horrendous.

I feel a ride day coming on.

Well the snow around here never stuck around. But today is calling for rain most of the day. It's very blah.
