Who's still riding? (Fall 2016 / Winter 2017 edition)

Just turn the hated gear up a notch to be right ..:D

Meanwhile down to 29 degrees on the deck ....at 3.30 am and no sign of promised Tstorm.

Could be near ...there is a weak El Nino just starting to catch in the Pacific and that would indeed bring a southern flow early.

6 days ago - La Niña conditions are no longer present, with slightly ... an onset of El Niño as soon as the Northern Hemisphere spring (March-May 2017).

Bring it on. I'm not going to get too excited yet, mother nature has a way of kicking you in the balls when you get hyped about spring arriving early (I'm reminded of getting snowed/sleeted on while installing our pool the last weekend of May a few years ago) but despite it not being a winter that was anything near the "brutal snowy winter" they forecasted, I'm pretty much done with it.

Bring on riding season. I can't wait for those after work rides with friends, and the weekend adventures.

Yeah that's true locally but big massive systems like El Nino have predictable patterns.

we are right on the borderline - that right hand red blob and it's just starting to develop but we are ENSO neutral at the moment.

This time of the yr is when we all watch the weather every hour and praying. Lol.

10 on Sunday...

Ill be out for sure. I'll be tempted Saturday but a whole lot of melting will be going on and the roads may be sloppy. By Sunday afternoon things should be a lot clearer.

Next week is looking good as well. Heck, we may not have any snow left on the ground by next weekend.

Not sure what it's like where you are but the roads here look like they need a solid couple of days of rain to get all the salt off

The tiny bit of salt dust left out there doesn't concern me - it washes off and there's not enough to be of any concern from a traction standpoint, around here at least. I expect to see a lot of bikes out, same as the day I rode in January.

Memories aren't made in the garage, nor is my bike a garage queen. ;)

Riding a motorbike in cold weather makes about as much sense as driving a hot rod on the 401. People do it anyway.

Depends on your definition of cold...

It also allows some of us folk who commute downtown to avoid the sardine can/subway.
