Something has been demonstrated here in these posts: At the most minor disagreement, we draw lines on the sand between "us" and "them".

We need something larger than us, something to unite us beyond our differences.?

Wth???? Look, this is a forum for motorcycle riders in the GTA. But it includes riders from across the country and beyond.

There shouldn't be a problem with someone posting a thread looking for others that have a common faith or interest. From hobbies to whatever.

I don't think the Muslim thread was being exclusionary. Good for them!

I don't even think they need to proclaim religion won't be discussed. I understand they aren't going from mosque to mosque preaching the good word of Allah. But I would imagine if a group of like minded people are together, faith would come up in some part of their day and it shouldn't be a problem.

And it shouldn't be a problem for anyone else.

Why do people feel the need to impose their views at the expense of others??? Or be disruptive.

I don't think the group helped themselves by trying to distance themselves from the religious aspect of the group by stating religion won't be discussed.

I don't understand those that feel the need to be critical of the thread and what's it's trying to accomplish? They have responded and offered an open invitation.

I don't see the need for them to rename the group to the all inclusive, all motorcyclist group ride where no one will feel excluded or offended.

But please feel free to carry on. It makes for an interesting perspective on the members of the forum.

I can't believe this crap has gone on 11 pages. You all have too much time on your hands. Who cares who has what beliefs, thoughts, wishes etc. I've seen that thread and it's been offered as an open invitation to anyone. So if you're offended don't go. If you're not and want to join then go. Otherwise wtf? Stop bitching, put down the keyboard and go ride by yourself.

I wish I had something new to add as well. I would consider that a feather in my cap. No offence to the Indians.

seriously. I feel bad for the guys who organized that ride. All they wanted was a gathering of people with similar interests/ beliefs, and people feel the need to raise an issue because they feel excluded. Get over yourselves.

It's like going to Taste of the Danforth, and people cry foul because all they serve is exclusively Greek food.

You don't get it, eh? Taste of the danforth is about sharing their culture/food.

Lol. No, I do get it. My point is, would you go to the Taste if you don't like Greek food?

It's ridiculous. If you feel that you wouldn't "fit-in" the ride that a particular people are setting up, DON'T GO.

Well now I know that you really don't get it. If you're getting that I'm speaking up because I'm feeling excluded, based on what I've been posting, then I'm concerned about your reading comprehension. Please reread, carefully. You're way out in left field on this.

Paul is busy?

Now seriously, where are we going in this ride?

I went to taste one year in an Italia soccer jersey. Love their food and culture. No one cared. friends that don't like it didn't go. Same thing applies here.

I don't need to re-read what you wrote.

And just so you know, I was generally speaking and not directing my posts at you.

The fact that people have issues with other people wanting to organize a ride with similar beliefs is ridiculous. It's essentially telling them, "Hey man you shouldn't organize these rides because they're discriminatory, and you might turn off people because it's directed only to muslims. Your ride should be open to everyone". What sort of entitlement does one person have to even say that?

Like I said before, people who feel excluded at such type of meetings need to get over themselves. You have a choice of not going.

i purposefully overstated the corollary to make my point obvious.
Exactly. Over stated cause White Power is different from White Pride just as Muslim is different from Jihad...as already stated. That said, you have every right to feel slighted, it's your own personal feelings....just not many share or see it.

And, oddly enough, no one seems to make a fuss about "Christian Riders" threads that pop up on various boards....... of thing helps, then it's a good thing.
I have to agree with Rob's statement.

.... What would people say if we made White entertainment television .....
That's the rest of the networks....mostly. Plus there's lots of other ethnic stations too.

I know a lot of none whites who like country lol so that's invalid
I like country....

....It's like going to Taste of the Danforth, and people cry foul because all they serve is exclusively Greek food.
The sushi places were serving too...

I just know that many of us who ride together are Atheists/Agnostcs and we have ridden with Muslism, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Buddhist and .... We never branded a ride based on religion. Never created an Atheist riders because i find it to be bigotry and divisive.
We ride because we ride. Its not a philosophical/theological forum and to try to divide people based on their religion is petty.

I personally prefer bringing everyone together with any excuse than to divide them up.

But thats just my opinion.

Mine too. I've stated my view, and tried to explain. Everyone is free to hold an opinion. Not everyone will agree. That's okay. For the most part it was a mature discussion. Thank you.

Actually, you've only indicated your discomfort with the other thread and started this one to make some kind of point without actually stating one. That would be more of a troll than actually stating what your point is.

You used a racist title to garner attention and nothing else. Help this simpleton out. What are we missing?

Ok, so after I got some sleep...I have a solution.

All of you guys go duel it out and I will keep all of your attractive smart women safe and having fun.
I am willing to take one for both multicultural and non-multicultural team.

If you aren't able to discern my point based on what I've written so far then there's no point in my trying to explain it further. The answer you are looking for is there. I've said my piece. Done.
