Some dumb comments in this thread.
I've owned my GSXR 750 since 2010 and I have not had a single problem.
In fact, I liked it so much, I bought a GSXR 600 for a track bike.
I had an 05 CBR600RR and that bike was no where near as comfortable as my GSXR.
It all comes down to personal preference, but the GSXR comes with more goodies right out of the box.
Adjustable rearsets, damper, slipper clutch, etc.
Honda's? Overrated and overpriced IMO.

Im looking to buy one to beat on it on the track. Like i said parts are everywhere and the bikes are cheap. The 04/05s were decent bikes minus the cam chain tensioner, secondary throttle valve actuator and the lego brakes.
For the street however i don't think id get another gixxer after riding a honda.
And yes honda has their issues as well, but when comparing a 600rr vs a gsxr its a pretty clear picture when looking at a reliability point of view.
Cost and maintenance might be another story..Look at a oem suzuki air filter, 35 bucks vs hondas 90
lol I did my research, I came to this forum to get first-hand experience from people who ride these on the street daily. Most of the reviews are sponsored, or written by people who rode thebike just to write a review. But yeah, you're right about the questions that I should be asking myself - everything brings me to the CBR600RR

I cant give you any valid reason's why an r6 is good or bad, I just got mine a month and a bit ago, so I havnt really been able to pin out the pro's and con's of it.
BUT!! I will say that its not very comfy LOL

LOL iv been on my friends' R6. Didn't enjoy it as much as the CBR or GSXR.
I'm glad you brought this up. So I know the CBR doesn't have a slipper clutch, but has a built-in steering damper which is highly praised - Iv been downshifting no problems on my 250 until now - do you guys think that not having a slipper on a SS would be a big disadvantage? (im thinking no.. cause of all the CBR riders who make do w/o it

It's one of those things that is nice to have but not necessary, same thing with the damper, or fuel gauge, etc. etc.
Bikes didn't always come with all the bells and whistles and people still made do.
Only you can determine whether these things matter to you or not...
Yes they are.
Also, the oem damper is a joke.
But it all comes down to what you want. All the Jap bikes are pretty much the same. All have their issues.

Not even on the 2013's.
Ok I remember now, it doesn't have a slipper clutch but the transmission does the same function as one.
To me that would be a pretty solid reason not to get one but i will confess that I don't know how the "slipper transmission" works compared to the slipper clutch, that to me would be the question to ask If I was traying to chose between the 2 bikes
