when does the salt start?

My only ride remaining is to go get gas into the tank and fuel stabilizer.

Will pick up the stabilizer this week. I may have been smart enough to fill up the tank after my last ride.
How to shop for a stabilizer? 🫣

Internet says get 0 ethanol fuel and call it a day, but I have a feeling it's wrong advise.

I use premium in my Scrambler anyway so it’s just a small bottle from CT and done.

I've used Canadian Tire Stabilizer (does old Stabilizer need to be stabilized?) and SeaFoam. For some reason I prefer Seafoam as I feel it cleans up the fuel system as well (but that is just a guess).

Heard that Startron works against the ethanol and moisture and Stabil works against the moisture.
Am not a chemist of any sort and the above is just hearsay.
(is this in danger of becoming like an "oil" thread?)

I had already put Stabil in the tank before my last ride on the 23rd. I topped it up again when I filled up at the end of the ride. I hope to get in a couple more rides before the snow comes for the winter and always bring the Stabil with me to replenish the tank when I stop to refuel. I was planning to go for a ride on Friday, but have promised to swap the tires on my daughter's car in the morning. Friday afternoon is looking like 10 C and clear so I'll make the tire change quick and get a good ride in.

Been finding with proper prep, I can ride in the colder temps on the africa twin, but I think the cutoff will be salt.

Any idea what criteria they use to determine when to start salting? Is it a date or week? a certain temperature?
I
Saw salt/sand on a bridge today on route to the reserve (to gas up my fuel guzzling F250).

Would gas line antifreeze (Methyl Hydrate) still do the trick? I remember years ago use to need it due to water in the gas in winter when gas quality control wasn't what it is today. Yup, I still have some on the shelf, has to be 20 years old at least. Wonder what that would do to the Ethanol

Is it snowing anywhere in GTA? Google says there's snow in Mississauga but I don't see any 🥺
