What's the RIGHT cruiser for me?

Another thing for me about switching to a cruiser was enjoying the challenge of improving my skills on a bigger, heavier bike. I want to get to the point where I can ride as well as the police do in their skills challenges. Carving corners on a sporty bike is fun, but living in downtown Toronto makes it a pain to get to any decent curvy roads on a regular basis. Going to a cruiser gives me the opportunity to work on my skills in a different style of riding while keeping me out of the trouble I was too close to getting into on a 100hp sport bike.
You should've gotten better seat for it or go for VStrom (either 650 or 1000)

well we only live once (and time is going by SO FAST) so while i feel like enjoying the sport bikes, i might as well do it, i'll get old very soon and get a cruiser lol :)

i've ridden a 1450 H-D in BC, to be honest it was PRETTY BORING.. i mean i loved the ride don't get me wrong, but after a while, believe it or not, my legs were tired of that forward positioning! so weird! i know that's gonna be something i will enjoy after 2000 kilometers of riding but how many times a year am i gonna go on a long trip like that? once!

oh and i have plans on adding highway pegs to my naked bikes for long distances! don't laugh! i'll post a thread once i'm done and post pics of what i've done to it... but i have something in mind :)
I agree 100% with your point.

I still have my cafe/frankenbike in the stable, and since my fiance was more comfortable riding cruisers it made the choice easier for me. And after the last 7000km trip the Z750S just wasn't going to be the right bike to do it again.
Again. Get V Strom.

What's wrong with you? I just went from oposte way. From cruiser to sport touring and noe on dual sport (( if you can call V Storm like that). Never been happier.

Assuming. If you have a bit of sprit in you, don't go for a cruiser. Even V Strom 650 can do better then any cruiser. But if you into cruisers get Honda Magna VF750 96-2003 model.

I went through 3 seats for it, stock, modified stock (gel/memory foam inserts), and a Corbin. None of them are nearly comfortable enough to last for a full tank of gas. And I don't like the Vstrom, the 650 is ok, but the 1000 is terrible.

Really? What's wrong with me? Absolutely nothing. I just know how to enjoy riding a variety of bikes. Dual sports don't interest me, I've ridden them all, and I just don't want to ride one daily. I commute 100km a day plus riding extensively evenings and weekends. A cruiser is much easier to live with for me. To each their own and all...

For what it's worth, the Mean Streak that I'm riding now is an excellent handling bike, cruiser or not, with plenty of low end power which makes it a lot of fun around the city where I ride 90% of the time.

Have you considered the "new" (to North America anyways" Honda CB 1100? Naked, beautiful UJM:

There are Honda demo days coming up so you should be able to try one out and see what you think. I plan to ride one on the demo day coming up in Waterloo next month. The beauty of an old school UJM is that you could throw a windscreen and bags on it for a tour, keep it naked for city duty, or do whatever you wanted to it to make it work for you.

Not a cruiser but it is naked. ;)

I liked what I saw at the Spring Bike Show when I saw it but not so sure about it in white... In another colour though it might be my next bike...

If I were looking at a cruiser specifically I would take a long look at the Victory. The judge and jackpot are pretty sweet looking bikes. I have no clue how they ride though.

As mentioned earlier, take a look at the Yamaha bolt. Not really a cruiser but cool looking machine that might fit the bill.
