What's going on with #StopAsianHate?

The media was waiting for a white on Asian crime so they could continue their narrative of dividing us all. Looking at facebook, instagram etc it seems to be working. So many idiot sheep in the world.

Racism and bad behavior is prevalent in every culture, at every time throughout history. The idea that it is perpetrated only by white people is idiotic and believed by easily manipulated and foolish people. Try living as a black or white person in China or other parts of the world.

My friend and I (both white) were denied entry into a club in Japan, likely because we were white and not Japanese.
I have been mugged by five black men here in Toronto.

In the US there is a huge amount of black on Asian crime in places like the Bay area and NY where older Asians are attacked and killed because they are easy targets.
Youll rarely hear about it in the media though. Dont believe me? Do a little digging online........

Few cases from the last several weeks in the Bay area and there are many more of them.

Black on Asian

Hispanic on Asian

Why are people only concerned when its white on Asian or white on black?

Why are people so concerned with the race of the attacker? Victim race may matter in case one group is being statistically over-represented. As a general member of the public, the race of past aggressors mean little. You need to be aware of the demeanour of those around you regardless of their appearance.

Because some people only see race and thee are others who race bait for profit ie the media, universities.

You want to know the truth about why the knife attack didnt get any media coverage? Because it doesnt fit the current narrative of bad white man.
this was what I was hinting at.

It doesn't help that the leader of the USA was an open racist.

This, however, goes back to the whole American (and to a lesser extent Canada), "holier than thou" attitude. America (and the British from my ****** history knowledge) has a long history of thinking/acting like they are better than others. This is why North America isn't homogenized like, say, China or Sweden; we really thought "it would be better here", it's why a bunch of our parents immigrated here.

We're not allowed to be racist due to the above context lol

It's really ******, but hey, somebody set this up.

And I am fully aware if how racist Indians, Chinese, Japanese and Koreans are, but they aren't the ones opening acting like their way is the only way. A big reason why China has gotten to where China is is because they made America believe they agreed with the "this is the better way." America then continued to strike deals with the "submissive Chinese", and now they've created a monster that had no intention of staying leashed lol

Had racist incidents in my younger years. Can't say I've seen it in the last while. Did Covid bring it up again? Probably, and due to the orange one possibly.

Yes, racism is all over the place. Non Asian in Asian countries get hit with it. In this country and NA as a whole, white is the "majority", though might actually be out numbered in reality....but they hold the high ground as it were.

All groups have the ability to believe that they are unique and separate from another group and demonstrate bias and open racism.

The harshest treatment that I received in my travels during the 1990s were all in Asia.

All against a white male.

Sucks right?

Now imagine that for your life and continuing today :(

I get why some of my friends bailed back to Asia. My wife still deals with racism whenever she is covering for provinces that aren't diverse.

Did you get to the point of hating yourself out of curiosity?

No not at all.

I lived in Asia for years.

But that wasnt my point. And my point was not to diminish your experiences or the extreme incorrectness (not the correct word) of other people's bias, lack of empathy or inability to to understand why their actions are wrong.

My point was and continues to be that racism is not a "white" thing. And that it exists in many forms.

The unending question of "where are you from" is indicative of bias especially when the answer is Brampton and not Manila. Yet some people cannot understand that simply asking that question implies an assumption of exclusion.

That was all.

Seems to me that you're pretty concerned with what you see as inadequate media coverage of black and Hispanic crime based on your small anecdotal selection of links, despite them being from mainstream sources. You're pretty tuned into paying attention to race yourself, I'd say.

Is it your assertion that black and Hispanic crime is under-reported due to a media and university profiteering to encourage racial division, while white crime is over-reported for the same reason?

People have been assaulted on the streets day after day for decades with little attention from the police. All the attacks I have seen are mostly on old people/ women usually by some nut walking freely.
This is prime for scared people to start carrying hand guns!
Charles Bronson. Just shoot the enemy,
Easy.
That will soon stop it.

I have no sympathy for those that commit hate crimes, period.

As an asian in the GTA, i fully support adding to the awareness. I find myself brushing off events i read about or remarks made by friends/colleagues that may undermine the asian experience. I need to change my position and call that out as it happens.

You nor anyone else on this site knew anything about black on asian crime in the US until I pointed it out. Your correct, I am pretty tuned in, wouldnt want to be ignorant like yourself.

It is under-reported when the victim is white and over-reported when the perp is white.
When a black man puts a gun to a 5 year old white childs head and blows his brain apart all over the street it barely gets a mention in the media but when a career gang banging criminal gets into a fight with a cop and gets himself killed, hes a poor victim.

When the Colorado shooter was supposedly white, social media was all up in arms about white privilege, white shooters, white supremacists. They were convinced he had to be white because "no other race would make it to handcuffs alive".
When it came out he wasnt white at all, there was silence and a different narrative.

The media and Universities most certainly encourage racial profiteering, they have minted millions of graduates with useless social studies degrees and received tens of millions of dollars in funding.

I have two acquaintances, one American born Vietnamese living in the Bay area, the other a Canadian born Korean living here.
Both post in their social media on a consistent basis what I am posting in here and more. If they were white they would be attacked, cancelled and probably lose their jobs.

Anecdotal, lol you hate the truth.

For a long time life has been better (in the west). Thats why people from outside the west come here and not the other way around.
Lets be real here, life isnt perfect in Canada but its bloody well good.
Despite the fact we are the most diverse country in the world, we all get a long for the most part.

Well, that is enough for this particular ignorant truth hater. Your bringing up the Cannon Hinnant murder tells me everything I need to know about your choice of media consumption and points of outrage. (For a supposedly ignored crime, that sure got a lot of attention.)

I'm going to leave things here, I just sincerely hope that your posts aren't just tip-toeing around some genuinely fearful views about muslims, blacks and Hispanics. If you find yourself having to self-censor what you really want to say because you think that may not go over well, that may be a sign. This isn't the place for those kinds of discussions, though, so I'm going to excuse myself from the conversation. It might be wise to focus on the discussion at hand, instead of turning things on to other targets...
