[/QUOTE]My pile is so much smaller, I don't even want to know how much you spent on tires
and this is just to get me started (minus one set of rain)

Took the bike to practice on Saturday at GB - I took a set of new rains with me (was supposed to rain all day) and only had a set of slicks with me from last year extremely used with bubbles and cracks, so end up only putting 2 sessions only but the bike sis running well and got some spider webs off me.
Fortunately round 1 is my favorite configuration

Rode it. Didn't get suspension set up well. Switched gearing from -2/+2 to -2/0 because I was redlining 2nd all over the place
-2 front? Is that 14t?? How's the chain life and noise? I was always afraid to recommend 14t to my R6 customers. I'm running -2/+5 on my R1 (15/50), if 14t is acceptable then I'd rather run -3/+2 (14/47).Rode it. Didn't get suspension set up well. Problem with going too low on the front is, chain will start eating through the chain guide on the swingarm.
Ehhh it's a race bike. Who cares about noise or longevity.

Noise and longevity aside, once its worn through the guide the swingarm is next.
I assume if a shop is installing a new chain and sprockets they inspect the chain guide right? lol.Noise and longevity aside, once its worn through the guide the swingarm is next.
I got tired of running around in 2nd gear all the time, figured I'd exercise my gearbox a little more. Top speed with -2/+5 is 270kph so not likely to hit that speed at my skill level on any track-2 + 5 ? Wft?
Exercise the gear box....you mean you don't just do the whole track in 4th gear? That's the most rediculous gearing I've ever heard of anyone using. You don't gear the bike for top speed unless your actually topping out 6th.I hope you don't make gearing reccomendations to your "customers".I assume if a shop is installing a new chain and sprockets they inspect the chain guide right? lol.I got tired of running around in 2nd gear all the time, figured I'd exercise my gearbox a little more.
