What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Lol no but honestly I wish you could just plug things in and they worked. I've been fighting with my kit software for over a year and finally got it working properly. We shouldn't need to be software engineers to operate this stuff or need to hire one. I could only imagine what it would be like trying to use data acquisition and getting all that stuff working properly.

In the case of MotoGP I'll bet the software engineers are at the track for every race.

There's definitely something to be said for the simplicity of CV carbs and CDI (or even points for that matter...). EFI vehicles have a lot of connectors and sensors that can cause problems, but obviously the many benefits outweigh the extra risk of complexity. I wish my dirt bike had EFI right now because my carb slide is so badly worn that it's a ***** to ride in the slow single-track trails...

AMA has software engineers at the track.

A single carb I can easily live with, pulling off a rack and messing with them I'd probably end up taking the same hammer to them as I do my laptop.

LOL... no kidding. Two carbs is easy too. Four just starts to get annoying.

Side stand because lazy

Figured out the ECU communication problem.

The FI manual says communication is possible even when the ignition is off. That is apparently a lie, there was nothing wrong with my laptop.

Adjusted the clip-on again, changed the grips, changed the front brake reservoir, bleed the front and rear brakes and drained the coolant from the bike. Thank God for the service manual, youtube and google. lol.

To flash R6/R1 ECU it needs MINIMUM 12v, so 70% of the time you can't flash it from someones crappy bike battery. There are two plugs on the ECU, one you use for flashing the other you have to remove while flashing or it does some REALLY strange stuff when you flash it. In the manual it just said "needs power" and "you don't need to remove the other plug from the ECU while flashing" lol.

It's like they wrote the manual a few years before the product was finished, and never updated it after they tested it.

And while we're on the subject of flashing F U FLASH-TUNE for connecting in remotely and destroying everyone's flashing equipment :(

Spent most of the night walking around the garage aggravated because I couldn't find half my stuff, hardwired the laptimer and loaded the bike on the trailer. Called it a night

****** off all the neighbors testing it around the block, then put it on the trailer for saturday at GB :)

I call it "off-white" with a one of a kind markings... but call it what you want :)

Relocated the voltage regulator.
Adjusted shift lever position.
Installed new rear rotor on spare rim.
Change the oil in the generator.

and as soon as the roads dry up a bit I'm hoping to go for a test run in the neighbourhood.

It wasn't work on the race bike but it was work related to the race bike.

Installed Hellwig airbags on my truck for towing. Ran into a problem with my anti theft lugs and getting the bump stops off was annoying. The install of the airbags was quite simple.

Here's how the truck sits now with 20psi in the bags.
