What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Yep, what ZX600 said. Plus I cleaned up the wiring in the front so that it only goes down one side instead of both. Your R/R isn't already under the tail? That's where it's mounted on mine, OEM position. If you do decide to make any changes to the R/R position make sure you use heavy wires, soldered very well, and make sure the connector is good and clean when putting it back together. Any unwanted resistance in the wiring could be catastrophic.

Cool thanks! I've heard how problematic the R/R can be so I'll just keep it where it is for now which is on the right side of the bike just under the gas tank. I'll make sure to mount it against the bodywork just like stock setup.

I'm just so tempted to splice the unneeded wires but I guess I should keep them intact in case I ever want to sell it. :)

Thanks again!

Well, after a long chat with Dave Buckland we concluded that it would be best if I re-did the epoxy. So I ground out all the epoxy I had added from the first run and started over. This time I did it all in one pour using a veterinary syringe to make it easier to put the epoxy where I wanted it in the intake runner. I taped over the mouth of the intake to keep the epoxy from running out, I also taped over the valve seat to keep the epoxy from setting there.

I did the #4 intake runner as a test with the syringe. Satisfied with that I taped up the other three intake runners this morning and poured the rest of the epoxy. It is setting as I type this and by tomorrow it will be ready for shaping. I checked the #4 intake runner and it's down to 75% of its original height. After I'm done shaping them all I am hoping they will be between 75 and 80%.

Oh boy! That sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you have a warm place to work!

We'll have to compare our gains after we're done.

looks much better than last time I saw it :)

Dropped the forks off at fast co with Scott Miller for a k-tech 25mm kit :)

Finally got the tail and pipe sorted out and back together.

I made a list of to-dos and it has 16 items on it.

I just wrapped the pipes, mostly to keep them from scorching the belly pan but also because it looks badass.

Currently my fork cartridges are in Atlanta, my Penske shock is in St. Catherines and my steering damper is in Scarborough. Hopefully everything comes home safe and sound and I can start reassembly.

Installed the Woodcraft Ignition By-pass

works well and it was easy to install

Dude, you suck at taking videos. Any plans to remove the actual cylinder?
lol - meh, you got the point! :)

Not sure, I don't see the point of removing it. Maybe once it gets warm.

handy. Cut mine out last year and tied it into the kill switch like most people. The cylinder assembly was actually quite heavy with the tamper proof bolts.

It probably weighs 2-2.5lbs. Yaya "take a pee/poop before and you'll loose the same weight" I know but start adding up all your pees and poops with a pee and poop and you've dropped 10lbs with proper bowel movements.

alll those little things add up to alot. Ive got my R1 into the 350's lbs. still could do tank and wheels$$$$$$, but we are talking good money in Ti Carbon, custom axles ect. its expensive but it does make for a faster, better handling bike.

I read this as I am having breakfast :)

I didn't think it would be that heavy but I see your guys point so it will be removed, plus I really didn't like the cable left hanging or even taped but it was too damn cold in the garage to keep on working on it.

Mine was previously removed and put back so the tamper proof bolts were replaced for regular bolts so it will be easier to remove. The Woodcraft comes with a resistor and it is plug and play.

Wholly crap! I need to put my bike on a diet.

10lbs?? Christ, what are you eating? LOL

It was finally warm enough to spend some serious time in the garage.

- wrapped the part of the exhaust that is still bent and could possibly overheat the plastic shroud
- deleted the awful rear brake reservoir (was mounted more than 12" away from the brake)
- installed the Brembo RCS

Also swapped rotors between spare wheels and inspected the nice wheel (the one that was hit in the crash) for cracks, it's all good.

GSXR Girl helped with the work and also cleaned underneath the GB Racing covers to be sure no dirt was left from the crash that would damage the cases.

Did you check the wheel bends/straightness?

I finally got the Ten's cylinder head reassembled after epoxy. I'll take it to work tomorrow to verify valve clearances then it's ready for motor assembly and then set the cam timing.
