What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Hmm let's see....duc got Woodcraft bars installed, a 1/6 turn throttle from an R6, new grips, and new clutch fluid. Today I adjusted the valves and checked belt tension.

Piles left to do, including repairing and painting bodywork, getting my wheels set up with bolts and pins that permit quicker changes, and servicing the suspension. But it sure is nice having an indoor workshop now where I can fiddle with things at my leisure all winter long.

No kidding! Mine was in the garage last year and it was too cold to do anything.. It's in the basement now. So much better!

Having NYE in the garage. Finally. All I've done since year end is drain. However today gave her a lick and a promise that I'd make her real pretty again come end of May. First year with a bike lift and first in 6 I haven't crashed the previous season. Go figure.

She is awfully cute so maybe do a few body shots off her if I can convince the goof troop. We are all getting old and little beat though so broken hips may ensue.

I will take pics.

Happy New Year all.

Can't believe it took someone this long to make and sell that
I know eh - such a simple concept and even easier to install.

I had to do the DIY version of that. Cutting, soldering, splicing, adding in a resistor... that would be $50 well spent!

Agreed just on the time spent alone and the potential for gremlins if the person is not well versed.

I like Woodcraft, they are great to deal with, I would have normally bought it locally (Tony) but i had a credit with Woodcraft.

Sweet! I hated having a key on the 600 it was just one more thing to loose or cause problems.

Now you need triple clamps to get rid of the key barrel hole.

I got the kill switch because my only ignition key is bent and I am afraid it will break, this is the year of working on the skills and getting lots of seat time and stop spending money. Cheapest winter season I have had..... it helps when you finish the season with a non crashed bike :).

Well I broke a bolt....in my cylinder head. There was some leftover sediment in one of the motor mount holes from when the cases were renickisilled and I didn't know untill I installed the motor. I thought I had it cleaned out and after getting the bolt 3/4 of the way into the motor by hand it jammed up. I went to remove the bolt and it jammed again. I guess some crap was knocked loose as the bolt went in and fell behind the threads so with blasting compressed air and wd-40 to try and loosen up the junk to hopefully clean the thread the bolt snapped. I'm pretty sure this bike is cursed. I'm not even going to attempt to fix it myself, the motors being dropped back out and the bolt will be drilled out by a professional. Just need to order a new bolt so they know how deep to go without damaging the cylinder head.
