What did you do in your garage today..?

Aside from those great Costco LED lights I have I was thinking of picking up a couple of these for $15.

Seems like a good deal. Anyone have these? Work well?
I'm 'go-big or go home' when it comes to lights. You can get them up to 20,000 lumens off Amazon -- much better if you plan on working in your garage.

Not sure how high your ceiling is but typically you would install 5000-6000 lumen fixtures at 8’. I wouldn’t recommend hanging 20,000 lumen fixtures at anything less than 14’, even that’s a little low. I usually hang 15000-20000 lumen fixtures in industrial buildings at about 16’-18’ or more. If you hang them any lower the glare will drive you crazy and can even give you headaches.

I assume you are installing high bay fixtures blasting light down though. The panels allow for much wider distribution. Ultimately lux is what matters but that is install specific and beyond what most people are capable of figuring out. Bigger numbers sell lights so lumens show up on packaging. Easier to get more lumens at higher colour temps.

My garage is in the 12-14' height range and with those 18,000lm lights there's no glare or any other issues. They're perfect.

Must be young eyes 😂
The old eyes need 3 times that.

Friendly service announcement for anyone that wants to stock up on oil the Pennzoil Synthetics are all on sale at CT in the $37-41 range for 5L plus there's a $10-15 rebate on each jug as well. Rebate goes until Dec 4th.

Graphics kit didn't come yet. Fortnine is using Purolator to ship during the CP strike. They split my order into 3...

Apparently the purolator drivers don't know how to find my house... after multiple tries.

Oh well, it looks good black. Not like I'm riding it anytime soon.

Decided all the fresh snow meant a break in riding so I finally started the rad switch. I've dumped it more times than I can remember and the rad shows it. Funny that with all that abuse the leak was caused by a loose rad guard wearing a hole into the lower tank. look close and you can see the JB weld fix.Rad 1.jpgRad2.jpg

Since stuff was off and a valve clearance check was 20,000kms overdue (relax it's a KLR) I pulled the cover and checked em.
Intake readings .006 and .005 (spec .004-.008)
Exhaust readings .009 and.008 (spec .006-.010)
All within spec so I buttoned it back up.

Missing Fortnine order came in (Purolator shipping issues).

Graphics kit is on.
New chain and sprockets is on. (2+ on the rear)

Packed the wheel bearings.

Cleaned as much as I could when the wheel was off.

Shes looking fresh.

Getting studs for it to give it a workout on the lakes? It's hard to have a new toy parked for so long.

It might be parked...

I got it last January. Only put 32 hours or so on it this summer.

Slowly making improvements to my riding, and to the bike.

Shinko 525 cheater gummy tires helped. Tubliss rear.

Not keen on the Rekluse clutch, but Im getting used to it. Would prefer stock.

Clean and repack steering stem bearings, clean and repack entire rear end, clean up bike and spray it with SC1 so it’s clean while it sits.
Pulled the carb off the kids 50 and cleaned it so it idles without the choke again. Success.
Moved the snow racers over to the bay to get ready.
Tomorrow I’ll detail the 1290 and 50 before putting them away as well.

And why can’t I put photos in the body of my posts anymore? Only attachments.

I wish you were banned from posting photos in general. It's like salt on fresh wound every time I see how nice your garage is, not to mention all the toys.

I'm inserting mine on Tapatalk, one at a time.

I've got a tire change to do on my wr250x, and pull the battery. Oil was changed weeks ago. It had a good clean-up. I'll still take it out around town, weather permitting.

A small displacement dual sport really extends the riding season. I wouldnt take my streetbike out in this...
