My milling machine was a lot like that one. I sold it a few years ago. I still have a lot of end mills and carbides for sale, if you need some.
Wow a "bench top" mill. The Ole Boy was a pattern maker and he had fullsize XLO like this beast.I've wanted a mill for the longest time, so with the help of @mimico_polak's trailer, I bought one today from @nobbie48. It took us almost 5 hours of shooting the **** and scratching our heads on the best way to move the 500+ lbs without getting hurt. We decided to disassemble some of the major components, and because we both said the obligatory "That's not going anywhere" after strapping them all down, of course I made it home without anything falling off or otherwise getting damaged (no thanks to the surprisingly bumpy route I had to take).
Unloading and positioning the base on the stand using my chain hoist hung from my 4-post lift. If I had a second person to operate the lift, I could have used it to do the lifting, but Bendpak warns against doing that, and this way I could lower and guide it at the same time into the exact position my OCD wanted. I'll try to take more pics as I continue cleaning and assembling.

I had the same thought a few weeks ago while we were repairing the neutral indicator on a Hawk I was about to borrow.If you can't find neutral without the idiot light you don't get to make a pass.

Backlash shouldn't be a huge deal for a home shop. Always approach the measurement or cut from the same direction and it's almost a non-issue. That keeps your reference on the same face of the screw.Will wear be something obviously visible? The X-axis seemed to be working fine while it was still assembled, but the Y-axis had a little bit of backlash. Probably not enough to matter for getting started, but I've already started down the youtube rabbit hole and the last one I watched was about replacing old feed screws with ball screws to minimize backlash for a CNC conversion.

Got my lawn tractor starting with new pump. Finding proper sized hose clamps for the fuel hose I was running was a PITA. So is working on things when all you have is a gravelly driveway with lots of leaves. Probably lost a half dozen little things that day. You guys with garages, recognize how lucky you are.Did the same thing with the new pump. Voila, water spurting out of the outlet, so it's clear something was wrong with the pump. We'll see tomorrow (hopefully) if I have a problem at the carb as well. Fingers crossed.
I winterized mine today (John Deere D180). Wash, wax, oil change. It always has to crank for a while when not used for a couple weeks before it’ll start. I’m assuming it’s losing the fuel prime but don’t see anywhere it’s sucking in air through hoses/fittings. Possibly in need of a new fuel pump? Tractor started with no problem but isn't pulling properly. One of the things I lost was a cylindrical spacer so the pump is sitting a too close which is affecting the throttle position. I might buy a piece of Delrin and fabricate my own spacer, or just order from dealer.
Installed Thunderbox and re-routed all my wires.
Previous owner had run a USB-USB cable from rear seat storage all the way to the front handlebars. I wanted to get rid of it. Started peeling off the tupperware which was restricting access to where the cable seemed to be pinched. Spent way too much time trying to remove this one bolt. Turns out that it's not an uncommon problem with these bikes where the insert gets disconnected and just spins around pointlessly.
After way too much time, I realized I was wasting the better part of one of the year's last nice riding days. Buttoned it up and rode up to ~Magnetawan before deciding to head back so I could drive back to surprise my wife on her birthday.

No shutoff. Yes I was thinking the same thing but I can’t see where air would be getting in. Fittings look solid.Does it have to be sucking air into a fuel line? Is there a chance it is siphoning fuel back to the tank? Does it have a fuel shutoff?

What is "a while?" Mine is 20 years old with over 300 hours. After sitting for a week or 3 it needs to crank for about 5 seconds; maybe 7 tops. When it fires there's a puff of smoke. It doesn't burn oil, otherwise. I just live with it.It always has to crank for a while when not used for a couple weeks before it’ll start.
