What did you do in your garage today..?

Pulled a fork to replace a leaking seal. At least removal is easy thanks to minimal body work and only one disc. Probably less than 15 minutes.
Fork disassembly was quick too thanks to the fact I had already welded up the special damper rod holding tool.

Is that the cottage you were offered by someone who didn't even know you? I thought that was a nice move on their part.
Regardless it looks nice. Enjoy!
That was a very generous offer. This place is on Oxtongue Lake on the west edge of Algonquin park. My daughter's partner does research on birds here. The family is coming up tomorrow and we will scatter Sue's ashes on Saturday.
I think I'm the only person on the lake. I stopped at the general store in Dwight on the way in and the locals said there was no way i would get the big Yamaha in. Lol
Turned tc off when i got off hwy60 and had so much fun on the dirt/mud road, i went back and did it twice more before beer time.

Started the bike, got geared up and rode away. I made it one street south and it died on me. I pushed it back home. Time to check the air filter, spark plugs and carbs.

Joy.

Been doing a lot of street riding lately, but the snow is melting quickly up on the trails, so I'm getting the dual sport and enduros ready for the season. I'd ordered a whole bunch of stuff over the wintertime but it's all been sitting in the corner of the garage. Finally got around to installing them before we hit the dirt (literally and figuratively):

Touratech crash bar reinforcements to make the OE engine bars a lot more beefier. I'm a crap rider and crash often, so I need all the protection I can get.

P3 pipe guards. Saves both my header and pants!

I have the DoubleTake folding mirrors on our enduros. They're mounted on RAM balls but you have to unscrew/screw the tightening knobs to change the position of the mirrors. Although these Touratech folding mirrors only swivel on one axis, all you need to do is just pull them down with one hand when you hit the dirt and swivel them back when you're on pavement. Very trick!

Installed clear clutch cover and frame slider

Nice? Ducabike?

I have this colour combo on mine:

Although I do miss the dry clutch sound. I looked into doing a dry clutch conversion, but from what everyone is saying, it's a maintenance headache because the conversion from wet to dry isn't as perfect as a system designed with a dry clutch from the start.

Which rearsets are those? They don't look stock?

No rear sets. Just rear frame slider and front have one too

And how did feel about it? I dont like them on the street as they really want to go and dont settle down until license losing speeds.
Pretty much. It reminded me when I had to decide between the mt09 and z900.

My friend bought a lemon and spent almost 2 years getting it road worthy.

Got the “spare” car running and out of the garage as I needed the space to work on the bikes of course .

Pulled out the CB350four to troubleshoot some light oil weeping from the top end and a second oil leak from behind the shifter side cover.

The weeping turned out to be oil coming from the tachometer oil seal. Of course the random NOS seal I have in a bin that will work for seven other models won’t fit lol. Thank you Mr. Honda .

On to the more important leak. After removing the side cover, step 1 was to clean up all areas around the oil pump, shifter seal area and the front sprocket. Ran the bike and the leak was coming from the oil pump. Armed with a handful of Q-tips I determined it was coming from where the pump meets the case. Re-torqued the fasteners but it didn’t fully resolve the leak. It does stop leaking after a 5 minute warm-up. Looks like I will be removing the oil pump assembly and swapping out all 5 o-rings. Fortunately all parts are still available through Honda or other sources.

Parts have been ordered and the bike is still rideable until the parts arrive. Not too bad for a 49 yr old bike .

Next up will be the RD250.
