What did you do in your garage today..?

Cool, by no means was I trying to be rude. I have swapped exhausts on all my bikes excluding the Pan America (as my wife threatened violence)
So maybe I am just bit jealous and lashing out in frustration... LOL
Either way, would love to see and hear it in person.
No offence taken at all.

It's perfectly ok for someone not to like something about my bike.

I will admit that it is not the best looking can that you could buy for it. But it probably is the best one that $200 can buy you.

Got something. Not a great solution though. If you have already missed your delivery window, telling people that you will ship it by mid-next week is pretty crap. If they had just told be mid-next week to start, I would have gone elsewhere for this order. Promising a six-day delivery at the outside and hitting closer to 14 does not make for happy customers.

"Apologies for the inconvenience.

Please stay online while I check the order for you.

As checked with your order ID, your order is allocated and will be shipped within 24-36 business hours.

I have marked a note to the warehouse department to expedite the order and will try to deliver your order as soon as possible."
PartsAvatar ASAP doesn't really mean asap. Ordered Aug 4 for Aug 8-10 delivery. They printed the Purolator Ground shipping label Aug 15 late in the day. Parts received this morning. So 13 days from order to delivery. More than double their estimate of 4-6. No apparent attempt to expedite, just try to pacify the client and plod along. They are off the list if I have a timeline for a project. May still consider them to replenish stock.

Wasn't really in the garage but I replaced the door seal on the washing machine. Cheapest quote we found was $425 parts and labour included.

Bought the new seal for $60, bought the tool needed for $20. Took me 2-3 hours including time to watch a youtube video, gather and put away tools, clean up, and clear out a blocked drain hose that wasn't part of the quote.

Saved $345 for max 3 hours of fairly easy straight forward work, and I got an excuse to buy a new tool. Double win.

Clutch slipping, way too early at 32k . I blame prior owner.
Clutch on order, has to come from Ducati. 10-15 business days :mad:

No rides for me that take me out of town until I can fix it. Every ride is a gamble now.
About 6 years ago my clutch was start to slip. I ordered the parts and was told they would arrive by a certain date. I was leaving for a trip to Deals Gap in about 3 weeks and the parts would arrive in 2 weeks, leaving lots of time to do the swap.

Parts arrived late - the day after I left for my trip.

So clearly I went on the trip anyways because what's the worst that can happen. Well, we rode for 3 days down to Deals Gap, then rode around there for 3 days. It felt good enough riding all those twisty roads each day. Then on day 8 coming home, we got stuck in construction - a 5 mile long traffic jam that was only moving at walking speed and my clutch fried in minutes. Being that it was on the Saturday of a long weekend, and I had to work on the Monday, I loaded the bike up into a Uhaul cube van in Wytheville, Virgina and drove it 1000km home. It only cost me $1500 to do this...

An old Phoenix Gold rca that I’ve been using for 30yrs in various cars finally degraded enough to start letting in noise. Since I was changing it I decided to install new amps also since they were 10yrs old. A phone call to a old friend in the business and I had some new amps ready to go in.

Racedeck?
Yes! I liked your floor and bought it for me. Over the winter I had a bike on the lift for a month or two and the feet of the lift indented two squares nicely. Another bike was on the centre stand on top of a scrap racedeck piece over the floor and the weight pushed through the scrap piece and indented 2 spots from the centre stand.

I really like the floor, but just need to take better care of it.

Your floor is nice and clean too. What do you use to clean it?

Nice! I had no idea people still had speaker boxes in their rides.

My brother used to build speaker boxes and do car installs in high school. Our Chemistry teacher happened to have a interesting side gig as the guy who did the sound system for RPM and a lot of other larger clubs in Toronto. He gave my brother the design specs for building good boxes. We then used to get the speakers from a company called Acoustic Design Group which used huge magents and quality components. We used to cruise around and make everyone listen to our music.

At one point I had 4x 500w bass bins in my living room for my dj booth, which was a little excessive.

Nice! Can’t remember the last time I saw a speaker box in a car!

On a slightly different note…is it worth to just swap speakers in the Volt? Stock ones are garbage.

Swap isn't worth it if you are moving the volt soon. If you are keeping it, swap can make a huge difference. Even bigger improvement if you add amps to power the new speakers. Modern amps are small so you can normally hide everything.

Agreed. Swapping in some good speakers will make a world of difference. Excellent speakers can be found for not much money, just need to look around and know what you’re looking for.
Add an amp if it’s not loud enough after the speaker replacement.

Contact Racedeck and ask for some warranty replacements and maybe also ask for advice on how to avoid that damage in the future. Their tiles are supposed to be up to the task. I have a parts Hawk that's been sitting on its sidestand on a Racedek tile for years in my shed with not damage, but it's much lighter than yours.

I like the amps as factory amps are normally poo and an amp sounds better when not stressed. Even factory speakers can improve markedly when paired with a decent amp.

I replaced a motor mount for my car. There's still some clunking but not nearly as much. I suppose I'll have to get to the other three soon.

Amazing! I’m more curious as to how you figured out what the issue was?

For me the hardest part is identifying the issue.

@Hardwrkr13 and @GreyGhost is a speaker swap a DIY type of deal? Or more involving? I assume an amp is a more involved process.

@GreyGhost the GTI still pulls me, but I’m more 70-30 in favour of buying it currently.
