What did everyone buy at the show this weekend?

I bought a Nexx Helmet and a BlueAnt Interphone F4 Communicator double pack so my wife won't pound me in the ribs to slow down!

I'd be interested in hearing how you like the Nexx helmet, after you've used it for a while. Their idea of retaining a lower chin bar behind the flip up is a good one, but it seemed a bit flimsy when I checked them out a while back.

I'd be interested in hearing about it as well.. they have a different look to them, me and a friend spent some time checking them out

I wanted to pull the trigger on a Nexx helmet carbon fiber edition. Gorgeous design but I didn't research it enough to commit. Show pricing seemed decent enough.

Alpinestar SMX-1 boots and Shift reinforced jeans for the girlfriend. Pretty good deals, but what happened to the days of negotiating with cash? Everybody just wanted sticker price + tax, debit or cash....ah well, still pretty good overall.

The helmet feels far from flimsy. Made in Portugal so they have to meet the ECE standard. I did some homework and I did want a built in sun visor. For the cost and fit it works for me, but once I get a chance to put it to practical use, I will let you know.

last year show bought a nexx union jack carbon fibre really light and feels good real test when i bring it out this coming year as just retired the shark limited edition helmet this winter so time for the Nexx to make its first in public appearance.

Paid same price as they had this year so didn't get ripped off buying a year early.

Had good time this year got some nice pictures of my 10 year old with the golo girls, hooters girls and also amisol girls so that will drive the ex nuts so good show for me! Also picked up a couple of racing stickers for the trailer.

It's not the overall helmet that I was talking about. It's the chin bar. That's the one failing of every flip-up helmet I've come across, insufficient support to the chin bar, and the one Nexx helmet I looked at had a rather weak chin bar. These days I'm wearing the best that I've found but if Nexx has reinforced that inner chin bar, then it would be an improvement on any I've seen.

Had cash in hand to get a new helmet, but the prices did not seem that great to me. Limited styles. Would rather get the style I want later and will probably pay similar to the 'show' prices. I was entertained by one of the Ducati sales chaps who, upon finding out that I had a BMW said, " well you've got the wrong bike!' Not a good sales pitch or way to make me purchase from him. I love the Duc's but chose the BMW as it was most suited to my needs. Hard bags and great long distance bike.

Problem is, she likes simplicity in gear, and all the ladies' jackets are "blinged" out and have real girly designs, which she hates.
She also wants leather, she saw a nice textile jacket or two but she's insisting on leather.
Still have some time before the season starts, so we'll see.

Take her to Velocity and she can pick out a style and colour/colours she likes. You can upgrade to Knox armor too and still be way cheaper than the jacket she liked.

Surprised my self by helping others find gear that fit right and only bought my self glue which is more for my dad than me.

Was looking for rubber for myself and shoes for my bike...
did not get nothing...
But
got a pair of pink small size gloves for potential 2up next season :D
Additionally: talked to some nice ppl, updated my racer licence, got an endurance race with Racer5 and couple hot sweety smiles (for free)

Got to the show and walked into the GP booth...within 15 mins of being at the show I almost walked out with a 1 piece Astars leather suit but decided to wait and look around for other deals.
I ended up buying a Dainese Pelle leather jacket at Riders Choice for a little better price cause I paid cash and I also did end up buying the over priced pizza and pop.
My buddy bought a Dainese Vintage leather jacket at Riders and a Pitbull reverse rear stand at GP.

Also me and my other 2 buddies almost bought 3 NEXX helmets (the one that looked like a fighter pilot helmet with the open chin) as novelty helmets but when we went back to the booth one of the reps came up to us and very rudely told us not to touch the helmets.. so we walked away...literally.
It's unfortunate because the actual owner of that retail store we had talked to earlier that day was extremely nice and a really cool guy. That booth was our last stop before leaving and we were taking one last look before actually buying them.

Stupid reps happen, which is why I would never shop at brampton power sports.

Bought a new visor (old one was scratched from sliding down the staright away at TMP). Bought a set of tires from Riders Choice!

I took Recidivist's advice and made arrangements to buy this from him prior to the show (http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?149887-Killer-Pricing-on-Bell-Helmets);

It's a fantastic helmet (the pictures don't do the CF and copper flake any justice) and Recidivist went all out to provide excellent customer service... It was great to meet him and I wish his shop was closer to me.

Bell shield was $99, but if I remember correctly it was free if you bought a helmet. The guy at GP demoed it with a flash light - cool shield for sure.

The above deal was actually $159 for the shield buy $99 if you bought it with a helmet. But nearer to the end of the show, GP Bikes allowed me to buy the shield by itself for $99. As with Recidivist, I wish their shop was closer to me as they always have had me walk away from the show with something from their store and a smile on my face.

Aside from the purchases, I met up with a group of riders I haven't seen in far too long, enjoyed their company then dinner at Zet's.

A great show for me!
