What are your limits taking on ramps?

How is that even possible? Those signs are so low you can make the ramp with a tractor trailer at their suggested speed lol

With a car you can do it 2x without breaking a sweat...on a bike 2-3 is just cruising

I've had the misfortune of following some dB > hp riders, who went suggested or lower, it's horrible.

Do they no longer teach slow in fast out at the tracks?

Is everyone trying to back it in on ramps now for practice?

One of the reasons that track courses don't translate to the street as well as they could.

No wonder I barely ride with anyone...everyone is just too fast I can't keep up with anyone these days damn...I'm sure everyone here will qualify for MOTO GP though at least

There's a lotta big talk anyway. Not sure how many would actually survive the qualifying laps...

I love the metal connectors on ramps too.. get that extra sliiideeeee feeling when going over it :agave:

Just cause you're slow doesn't mean you should make fun of everyone else who isnt... :)

Hey,
I am slow too. There is a cool slow circuit in the area to ride.

Never knew 'ramps' were such a big deal -- Personally I don't see the point in trying to do xx speed on xx ramp, and prefer to go ride up north in the twisties with friends instead.

Slide?! You're doing it wrong! Metal connectors on exit + WOT = both wheels off the floor :lmao:

Ramps are just a nice way to see how much you cam lean your bike a constant speed for a variable of time. Personaly I love that feeling.

The whole point of hitting corners is to go as fast as possible with the least amount of lean....but yet again the garbage information GTAmotorcycle riding experts shiit out, im surprised there isn't a stats of how much people here contribute to motorcycle crashed from people listening to bad advice.

When you see a pro GP rider leaning all the way, they are leaning @ triple digits because hey have no choice, the slower you are around the corner the less you lean the bike, but the more you lean, GP bikers want the highest speed around the corner with the least amount of lean, and most amount of tire patch/grip around the corner....posers try to lean as much as possible and not even brake triple digits around a corner. The only time you should be leaning both bike and your body hard is at top speeds around bends or absolutely crawling speeds in an autox environment, anything inbetween you should not be leaning hard, it would be just for show. you leaning and bike lean, also vary heavily on the concave of the corner and the angle of the curved corner itself, its a complex skill. You also have to move about on your bike with the speed reflex of your bike, thats called being one with the bike, its helps, transitioning for multiple corners one after the other.

Limit: Speed of sound. I'm not riding without my tunes, need some fresh beats on a long ride.

It depends on your skill and the ramp itself, so it's hard to say what any particular speed any particular rider would be okay at.

You shouldn't be looking at your speedo during the ramp anyways, as that is a sure way to get off line.

For what it's worth, I don't like to push limits on the street (too many variables), but I've grown comfortable doing the lawrence ramps at about 75 to 80 kmph....a little slower going in, a little faster coming out.

this video on youtube keeps me in check though (warning, somewhat graphic):

Helmet cam pointed at the speedo? lol
How can you lean & still point the camera at speedo? GoPros must have advanced a lot since. According to Zx, I'm curious

Depends on how far you're out and where the camera is positioned. I've seen ppl mount them on the triple tree. Most "action cams" are fish eyed so you'd have to be going full retard with the lean not to catch your speedo if it's mounted on the left side of your helmet.

..what is this "speed reflex of the bike"? Is this how far the swing arm swings when you hit the seat with a small hammer?

I'll give you another complex skill to master...stringing words together that make sense.

Says the guy who rides from timmies to timmies.

Lemme know when you have the balls to come to a track :D
