It's this Friday, hasn't happened yet. Don't fall for the pre-black friday sales hype. Though in tech it mostly means the same price as previous sale prices, because that stuff is always going on sale.
There is also Cyber Monday which is next week. That use to be a tech only sale.

Didn’t want to start a new thread.

What’s the board game go to nowadays? Especially with young kids. My parents were never into it but I want to get my kids started.

Also, if anyone is clearinghouse of board games let me know.

This is a great card game for you and the kids. I sent a spare deck (Squeeze was in a cleaning house mode) to @NuggyBuggy who was hooked on it in grade 5. He reported back his teenaged kids loved it. It's a car race with cards. You overcome flat tires, running out of gas, accidents and speed limits.
 
Squeeze and I play a game of Boogle most nights after supper with tea. I think it's the kind of mind game that can help ward off dementia.

Also picked up 'Connect 4' and 'UNO' as the kids love it, but I wanted one for the cottage.

The only "tricky" part and it really isn't tricky, is the 4 coufaree(??) cards. Say someone throws an "out of gas" card and you have the gas tanker card, you play it & shout coufaree. You are now immune from running out of gas and get extra points for you're coufaree.
Please report back and let us know if they liked it.
( Squeeze and I will play it with other couples over drinks)

Damn, we did a massive clearout a few weeks ago. Still have trouble (5+), sorry (6+) and a brand new monopoly you're welcome to have.

I did, I actually bought it on launch in 2019. IIRC the main thing to remember is basically none of the weapons you get are as good as just throwing stuff.

One of my favourite things about the game is the character Ahti and how they made him sound so unhinged by giving him lines that are Finnish idioms that are literally translated into English
 
I have been playing EA NHL 2024 through the Xbox gamepass. I started on Rookie doing career mode which I really enjoy. What I hate about the game is defense are horrible, NPC's don't play positions and if you run into an NPC without the book, it is like hitting a wall, you can't move, have to pull back and go around rather then hitting someone or pushing them out of the way. Not sure if my issues are all because I am on rookie mode.
