That's the nice thing about the Volt - after the 15kwh from the battery is used, the engine just starts up and maintains the battery at the "bottom" level, so you can continue to sap the 12v for around 1500-1800w on an inverter and the Dc-to-Dc keeps up no problem, just cycling the engine on and off as needed.
If you were miserly with a ~750w/hour average use (just the essentials, fridge/freezer, occasional furnace cycling on and off) that would average around 18kw a day, so our Ioniq could power things for a little over 4 days.
The fog is thick here this morning maybe 20ft of visibility.
From my weather app, aside from two days, single digit temps up for the next one to two weeks..

Went out for a short ride. Just to Port Perry and back. Temps were great, but crazy amount of wind.
Any ride is a good ride
I forgot to add, gas in PP was $1.25 (To was $130 ish), could be a good year for riding. Or at least until they pull back the curtain after the election.
I too got out for the first ride of the year today. Given yesterdays weather I wouldn't have expected that, but yeah, 21 degrees out this way. Windy, but meh, it seems if one is to wait for perfect conditions this spring, you might not ride until summer at this point.
Felt good. Put on an audiobook that I've been trying to get into and immediately zenned out. I missed that. Good wind therapy. A bit too much on the wind side, but good nonetheless.
Manged to get out to the Donnybrook. Meeting wrapped about 9:30 so I got to ride home under the stars.
Gord Inglis of Inglis Cycle came in to discuss the new changes to safety certs. Nothing has changed regarding the specs your bike must meet but the system is a shite show. It asked for a pic of the digital read out of tread depth, and pad shoe thickness. Let's say the reading is 1.8. Next it presents a drop down menu of 1,2,3,4,5 and asks you to pick which reading you had. It also asks for pic of the serial numbers/vin but the tablet is quite large and for some faired bikes it's downright impossible to get the tablet in to take the photo.
Getting safeties on older vintage stuff is going to get much harder. Already many shops won't touch stuff much beyond 20 years old.
