Those original 7's have a bit of a following as long as they haven't had a lot or rounds through them lined barrel and all check sold listings and advertise it some. Their biggest downfall is fragile magazines FWIW.

If its a Lee Enfield No.4 'T' (Long Branch), complete and intact, he's got something quite valuable there.
Worth enough that there are those who try to fake them.
Do some research.
I'll try to get more info. 100% sure it isn't faked. It was his fathers.

@GreyGhost , a Canadian website for buying/ selling guns , GunPost is a pretty good reference for prices of military arms selling in the Ontario market . Also has collectors showing ads looking for stuff . Finding actual collectors not flea market types will be the hard part .
As an aside , after WW2 , the LongBranch plant switched to guns for farmers and hunters , but with so many returning soldiers needing jobs , tariffs went in place, so American companies bought into CDN manufacturing , Winchester got Cooey out near Oshawa and H&R used LongBranch . I own an H&R shotgun stamped “ Made in LongBranch Ontario Canada” . It’s desirable to military collectors because of where it was made, shotgun collectors because it’s a bit unusual, but on its best day , it’s worth about $250.00 . Your sniper rifles , if they are the real deal should be worth a few thousand each . Best of luck .

My son just inherited two Enfield's that my father had turned into hunting rifles. (Shortened the barrels and made new stocks)
They came with a really cool picture. My cousin, an avid hunter, had the guns and was bear hunting with his 15 year old daughter. He left her in one spot and went off to stake out another spot when he heard two shots. He runs back to find his daughter with a dead bear.
He: "It took two shots?"
She: "No, the second shot was for that bear"
The pic is them with the bears and the rifle. To this day my cousin still feels bad about leaving his daughter alone.

My grandfather was an enthusiastic hunter. A little too enthusiastic. If he saw something worth shooting at, he would put all the lead he had downrange.
That is still part of the great debate , shooting dinner vs ethical clean kill, sportsman vs hungry . It’s not 1950 anymore in rural Ontario, but you still hear about some guy blasting 8 rounds at a 110lb deer .

My brother bought an Ithaca 37 off him. Nice gun. Bottom eject. My dad bought a black powder 50 he made (kit based but many many hours into making it look and shoot beautifully). I'll post pics of the 50 when I get my hands on it.

Excellent customer service from S&J Hardware. I had a shotgun placard that hadn’t been used on the range yet fall apart and they mailed me out a pair of replacements for free. Good places like this deserve our business.

Speaking of deer... I couldn't believe the numbers taking dirtnaps along I75. My wife stopped the body count at 50, which was between Detroit and Atlanta and I'm sure there were plenty she missed during the dark driving hours.
I can remember seeing numbers in the upper peninsula on I69 or I75- but never along I75 south of Detroit.
I can believe that , our last drive down there , for 300kms south of Detroit it looked like a massacre. My last drive south we went through Pennsylvania and West Virginia , I wasn’t comfortable driving at night there seemed to be so many. My friend in Up State NY says there are 11 million, till they hear you cock a rifle .
