We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Depends on the instructor but in general, those are 2 separate courses, each of them is typically 1 day and they cost about $150 a pop or $300 combined... Regular PAL course just gets you your PAL. If you already got a PAL and want to upgrade, you just take the RPAL course and if you have nothing, you take both.
(Sorry for all the questions that may sound stupid)

So this course right here http://www.fseso.org/events/combine...estricted-nov-14-nov-15-ibew-353-toronto-hall doesn't include my PAL or my RPAL?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

wat?

that course is for both licences.. its right in the title

First day, non restricted
Second day, restricted
45 days to 6 months later, you get your licence in the mail

Yeah I guess I'm just confused from the different acronyms. I thought the PAL and RPAL were totally separate things from the CFSC or CRFSC

Rpal is slang short form for restricted possession and acquisition licence.

CRFSC is the name of the course for getting said licence.

I got mine in 35-40 days but I followed the tips from that CGN megathread in the n00b section

Have you been following that thread? Have they reporting the method not working any more? Just wondering, don't wanna look through several years' worth of posts lol

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Nah. Don't really care to keep up..I do remember seeing several posts about longer delays but maybe they're not the norm.

Generally those who whine about the delays are the ones who don't follow the suggestions

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Anyone ever have problems with Canada customs and gun parts deliveries? I ordered some stuff from Brownells and it was shipped on the 28th of Oct. Tracking shows it reached Canada and was sent for customs clearance on the 30th, 11 days later still nothing and no updates on either Canadapost or USPS tracking. I called Canada post and they said its in Customs, Im like "um yeah for 11 days"......No other information they could give me besides customs has it...

So I am looking for a way to contact someone about it, as this is not normal in my experience to wait 11+ days for customs clearance. Ive ordered from Brownells probably 10 times already this year. As the reciever is there any way to contact Canada customs about it? to see what the hold up is? Or is my only option to wait?

Just sucks I paid for expensive express air shipping, USPS did their part got it to Canada in 2 days, but now Canada customs holds it for more then a week...ughhhhh I just hope they didnt loose it

Quite common and nothing to worry about.. Some clear customs quickly, while other shipments can be stuck for up to a month (that was my personal "best" for an order that had a stock, a handguard and some mags).

On a side-note, a buddy told me he's thinking about getting an SKS.. My respons was:
Thinking? There's no thinking. You give $200, you take the SKS home. That's it

Yeah patience is something Im not good at
Strange I consider myself a mail order professional I like to have a package once a week to feed my fix, and Ive never had a package sit at customs more then a few days at most, after 2 weeks Im getting paranoid. Got me thinking maybe they messed up/lost the paperwork as it was over $100 Brownells makes me fill out an "end user statement"..Not that it really matters Im just bored, I got my lower already, Brownells order has trigger, buffer tube kit, and lower parts kit. Barrel and bolt wont be here till Dec, so maybe they will all come in at the same time..lol

In general they like to sit on gun parts longer than anything else. Frequently it's to ensure compliance with the law, so they have to make phonecalls and it moves at the speed of government.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

where do you guys sell your guns? i've spoken to the guys at TS and its $50 to display at their store, and 10% off the sale price, what are my other options?
its a 4th Gen Glock 17 with all original box, cleaning kit mags etc, also what is one of these worth resale?

Thanks

Max

I've always had good luck with either CGN or reddit.com/r/canadaguns and now canadagunsee

I dunno I haven't sold any but have you tired any of the used gun sites like Gun Broker etc, or even the EE on CGN? My friend buys a lot from gun broker but hes into older classic stuff and a lot of times its a US sale

As for TS I get a kick out of people paying $50 a month to have their guns on display/sale at TS for way too much money! Its like they are just paying $50 rent for it to live there for a while, because nobody is going to buy it for the overpriced price. At around $800 new value I wouldn't think there is room for a $50 hit on the sale...If you do put it on sale there dont try listing it for %5 off the retail price LOL

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Yep, if you want something to move fast set your selling price at 75% of the lowest new price you can find.
If you have something that is rare and hard to get, you can ask more.
I've almost never had something for sale longer than a week setting prices like that.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

CGN no question. No better market, IMO. Check what others are going for and price accordingly.
