We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

You're all making me jealous... I'm still waiting for my license; though I already have a credit-card-endangering wishlist of paper punchers that I want to get.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Anybody know a source for quality, weather proof rifle cases? Suggestions?

Al Flahertys had a bunch of cases in stock last time I was there. Give them a call or check their website.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Thanks guys... headed to lebaron on the weekend, apparently they have some good sales... Speaking of sale, SAIL in Burlington is also close for me... I'll check them out.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Just got a flyer from Canadian Tire - they have a "hard" case on sale (starting today) - fits 2 scoped rifles (55" long). Looks pretty solid - has a "dry-loc" seal, so I assume it would offer water protection. Reg. $180, on sale for $130. They also show a single case for $90.

Sure beats Plano, which it's knocking off.. With that being said, if you're willing to go shorter (like 50") a Pelican 1750 can be had in the $180 ballpark used and is definitely better quality. For $180 I got a 1750 and an extra piece of foam.

I am a fan of Pelican I used them for my camera equipment before getting into firearms and now I use 2 of them for my firearms. Waterproof and pretty much bullet proof also

Just dont buy them at big box stores, I bought mine on Ebay and payed almost half of what they are selling local stores.

I really lucked out by getting my 1750 over kijiji.. For $180 I got one in perfect condition, with 2 pieces of foam, Not a good regular range case as it's too bulky (as a range bag, I run a Voodoo Tactical in 46"), but if I want to travel with a 3gun setup, this is perfect.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Anyone got any ideas were to get a Ruger 10/22 for a decent price?

Lemorons frequently has them on the cheap... Flaherty's has them for $285, you can get a Rock Island for $250 from Wanstalls (heard they're better quality than the original and most of the parts are interchangeable - iirc the only thing you can't change is the barrel, but verify that in the Rimfire section at CGN), If you have a Fail store nearby, never hurts taking a look.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

I don't the no sail even sell Rutgers at least according to their site. Any online retailers I'm probably way to far from any of these stores!

Edit: i see Flaherty's is online so i will look there. One more question i eventually want to do a tactical conversion after putting a few rounds through it. My guess is all the models are the same and will work with the kits as its just the stock and some accessories that varies from model to model.

Also suggestions for tactical stock kits would be appreciated.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

I have an account there i just find this forum a bit more friendly

The rimfire section of CGN is very friendly and not as snobbish as some other sections.. With that being said... The Rock Island 10/22's should be able to rock any 10/22 upgrades/accessories other than barrels. Fail stores often have stuff that's not on their websites, so they're worth a visit if you have one nearby. In general, if you are planning on upgrading it, just get the cheapest one and that should be it. When it comes to tacticooling it, I loved the Choate M4 stock (which you can get on special order from Mystic Precision)

I also ran an extended mag release, a "tactical" charging handle, plus a UTG rail to mount a dot. Eventually, for competition, I switched over to the AR-15.22 platform but that's $$$

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

What ???? your saying guys with guns are not friendly....LOL

Honestly thats not my general experience with people in the hobby in general however online everyone seems like if you don't shoot the same what they do then your some kind of idiot im sure its just general internet buttholery.

I will say its defiantly not a place i will be discussing politics

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

There's a mixed group on CGN. However, all in all, it's a fun place to learn about all aspects of firearms. Yes, owners tend to brag about their toys, even the junky ones ;)

Rimfire, Service and Red Rifles are the least snobby sub-forums.. Now if you get into Action Shooting Games or Black and Green Rifles, you better have thick skin unless you got a half-decent rig

The Poodle Shooter forum is a real mixed bag!! :)
