Walking Dead (Spoliers)

Re: Walking Dead

I'm on #29 and Merle and Daryl aren't even in it so far. The comic is sooooooo different than the show. I say if the comic is a straight line, then imagine the show another line moving up and down with the comic being in the middle. The further along I read, the further the up and down line gets from the comic.

They just aren't in the books at all. The show added a few characters as well as ommitting a bunch. The comic seems to be a lot darker as well.

Cool, I guess I shouldn't look forward to their appearance, lol. I just finished reading Michonne's revenge on the governor, that was pretty sick.

Indeed, quite a bit was left out of the show, but I guess it makes sense since what he did to her was left out as well. Which books are you reading? My gf got me the ones with the cardboard? covers. I think there is about twenty of them. At first I thought they were a shortened version of the series, leaving out the detail of the original comic. Now I just hope that they are all the same and just have different ways of selling them, like how you can buy those two large books. Does anyone know if there is any difference?

Oh yeah, I get why they changed most of it. It's just like a "based on a true story" kind of movie/show, they just took the idea.

I'm reading the comics I downloaded via the net. I believe they are the "original" ones, ie. the first ones out.

Re: Walking Dead

Good episode tonight, I thought. No Andrea, change of scenery, lots of z killing, Morgan reappears with quite the arsenal & bunker.

Re: Walking Dead

Great episode, but I would've taken more guns from Morgan. I thought picking up the pack at the end was cold.

Was that the guy who so desperately wanted to get picked up? I noticed the blood trail but my PVR goofed up and did a hiccup between walking & talking dead.

Re: Walking Dead

Yeah, with the orange pack. He left a pretty good smear on the road, almost like he was run over. But thats just me allowing the show to make me suspicious. Damned Governor...

But they don't actually show what happened or talk about it, so it had to be walkers who destroyed him.

Could have been an expatriate of Mayberry. You know the Governor's SOP for expatriates. Or a one of the Governor's grenades. I can't believe that, against all odds, a lone backpacker would have made it that far and for so long, when the military can't even survive. If it's too unbelievable, it probably is.

Re: Walking Dead

Yeah the last scene was a statement of how low Rick and his group have fallen. When they first started it was all about banding together, saving stragglers and not killing the living. Well all that's gone out the window since the harsh reality of self-preservation set in. When it comes down to saving your own ***, human morals are forgotten and pure instinct takes over. Humanity only works if there's society and order.

I think the story of Morgan reminds us what's happening to Rick's group

The Governator wouldn't have left the backpack behind. No one who is trying to survive would have left it.
