I understand what you are saying.
But I don't get all worked up when black people and let's throw in the natives have their own events.
I'm not black and I've been to a few "black" events and never felt anything but welcomed.

The point is that you made a massive general statement without taking into account the history of the event or how its related to history of the specific area. You are also trying to speak for an entire broad gambit of people "White people" as far as I know white people don't all make the point you say they are. I think groups like Neo Nazis, KKK and general racists would not say "Lets all hang out together". This event started in the 80's a time when black culture was starting to become mainstream but its history goes back even further to a time when the beach its held on was one of the only Black friendly beaches. And BTW its not only for Blacks you can attend and enjoy it as a white person. If whites in the US had a time when they had to live through separate but equal you might see some White Bike weeks but they didn't and that's just history. Having events that cater to a specific cultural subgroup is not racist(unless of course it specificity is like a white power rally). This event is no more racists than Octoberfest is.

why cant they justy call it Bike Week ???? this is the point im trying to make... the only ones who still want segregation, are blacks ! MOST white people dont really care anymore.
