Veteran RCMP officer stripped of his uniform for publicly smoking medical marijuana

Probably because there are as many cops reading this forum as members.
Or maybe it's just PARANOIA !!! :lmao:

Why don't you start one up.
We can discuss prohibition on alcohol and why that failed, and compare the dangers to the demon weed from hell !!!

Ill bring the munchies :D

I'm partial to peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, can you bring some of those please.
This time off and cold weather has given me much gtam surfing time, we need all the threads we can get, someone call tafb and ask for some new topics!

Just what we need on the streets, a bunch of paranoid (one of the known side effects of weed) cops with loaded guns running around.

Where did you learn that? The refer madness movie? Government brainwashing?
Ask 50 potheads how paranoid they feel, you'd be hard pressed to find one.
Why was alcohol illegal during prohibition? Why is it sold openly now?

Lol, didn't you know about the government scare tactics that they use in school? "If you smoke cigarettes, you'll die. If you smoke marijuana, you move on to harder drugs and die". They've been teaching that for years now throughout the school years.

Not like it's working

For something that would be a small fine if it wasn't medical, I find this to be way over the top. Probably just trying to make an example after the Rob Ford crack fiasco and drunken stupor antics..

Pretty sure it was repealed because too many people were going blind or dying from bad moonshine not to mention the racketeering, which led to organized crime and the government was losing lots of money to pay for prohibition agents and corruption was a big issue.

On the flip side, smoking peyote is tradition of the natives of this land so its quite surprising the rest of us not on reserves aren't allowed to do it but I guess if it was a common practice around the world prior to these restrictions it would be legal. Arabic countries and culture seem to be the online dry countries. No age limit for drinking but there is a limit for purchasing, similar with cigarettes in many European countries and even our continent where you can smoke 2 years prior to being able to purchase.

It does work for some. You would be surprised how often I get into arguments with people who say pot is bad and they have no reaaons to support it and end up calling me hard headed and saying its illegal for a reason

So all you pro pot at work guys would be happy to have, lets say the avionics tech fixing the landing gear on the 737 your about to fly on, being high while doing so? Or maybe the paramedic driving you to the hospital after an accident being stoned (5 munchies stops before getting there LOL). In peoples personal life I have no issues with it but when people use it while doing jobs that effect me, I have BIG issues.

I'm pretty sure studies have shown it doesn't affect all people the same. If your experience with it is not positive or only semi-positive with a struggle you might be inclined to say it's bad for everybody. If pot works for you, and you're not just kidding yourself, knock yourself out.

looks to me that this fella is just laying the groundwork for a future wrongful dismissal lawsuit

if the general public knew how many members of the rcmp are using prescribed opiates or psychiatric drugs or are functioning alcoholics the force would be disbanded forthwith

My friend, you are in for a rude awakening one day...lol
Have you ever worked in the mechanical field at all? Some of the most skilled and creative people on earth smoke pot.
Go to any garage, including avionics, trains, boats, TTC, you name it, and i assure you there's a safety meeting taking place somewhere
Here's the real stunner to open your eyes : The main reason more people don't smoke weed, is because it lingers in your system for quite awhile, hence it's harder to pass a pee test, but certainly not impossible i can assure you.
Now guess what?! Those people with jobs requiring such drug tests, use COCAINE instead, as it leaves the system quite quickly, and thats a fact jack, you don't have to like it, but it's true, and far wider spread than you think, including all those people you look up to or consider an authority.
More recently, ecstasy (however you spell it) and prescription drugs has become the popular thing, which is sad because many kids have died trying it.
As far as i'm concerned, all that **** should be outlawed first, starting with the large pharmaceutical industries grip on the sheep.

i was about to say the same thing, some people i know take a tylenol 3 and they are soaring after that.
Some people have no reaction to a T3, or codiene. much like a beer, or a shot of whiskey. some people can handle it, some cant
i dont think i could do my job after smoking a joint. but im sure there are some who can.
