Vespa on the 401, totally do-able but...

I am more worried about me making it than the bike.
I will have to do some serious training and try to get down under 175lb.
Looking at oil temp gauge and switching to full synthetic oil.
The CBX250 handles good at 120kph but starts to get squirrely at 130 in traffic.
A steering stabalizer should help.
I will have to practice stop and goes at the gas pumps.
I have planned for 4 gas stops/washroom brake. (aprox. every 200km)
Gas stops planned for just before custom/imigration stops.
Not sure if a NEXUS card would be that much help at the borders.
I will carry food and liquids on the bike to speed up pit stops.
I have the route laid out in .gps and .kml formats to run on my iPad that sits in the map window on my tank bag.

I'm not worried about the bike, but I do want to minimize the chances something will go wrong. That bike gets ridden maybe 200km a year.

It also has the farkles (somewhere) to make it comfortable for longer rides - skirt, higher windshield, etc.

So you're doing it? Would you share the route ?

EDIT: Only now do I realize it's a race. Doh. Still interested, but *now* I understand why you're looking at stop and goes at gas stations. Me, I'm taking the opportunity to stretch my body at every chance I get so I'll be happy to get the chance to stand.

At 72 years of age with a bladder not what it used to be, my definition of Stop & Go is STOP bike and GO to washroom as quick as possible.
I have been doing research and have a basic route and some alternatives to avoid afternoon traffic.
I have some web sites with traffic cams to decide what route would be best at certain times of the day.
After the new year I can get proposed road work details and adjust route accordingly.
I am favouring multi lane hi ways as getting stuck behind the locals following a tractor can rase havoc with average speed.
I am opening another posting o get feedback on the Winsor to Buffalo route.
There is an Airbnb (2 rooms with double beds) within 10km of the starting point for CDN $362.00 for 2 days.
At the campground (event start/end) Deluxe Cabin w/ Kitchen & Bath, Queen Bed, Queen Loft + 2 Bunks | Sleeps 6 for US$169 per day.
I have planned 4 equal distance gas/rest stops at about 200km apart with easy access back onto the hi-way.
I can do a route with more stops for anybody who wants to ride at a more leisurely pace.
