Or go enjoy the circle jerk of gab/parler/great awakening/Q

Or Drumpf's new site blog. It has almost as much traffic as Petsmart.

They are making it up as they go . These vaccines are only approved under emergency measures . The Ontario governement is not following manufactures instructions . Does it suprise anyone that other provincial jurisdictions are doing the same .

Yawn. I'm so incredibly tired of the conspiracy theories.

I get my second shot tomorrow evening. Got moved up, and was happy about that.

Whispers that there will be a border announcement this coming Friday for those with both shots.

Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia are calling. You'll find me in one of those places on 2 wheels likely within a few weeks of it reopening. A 3 day weekend down to PA sounds like a primo start right out of the gate.

What was the date your original second shot was scheduled for? Wondering how quick they are moving up on getting people to the point that we can freely travel

I wonder if that applies if you make a run to the states for your second shot.
Depends on how they check if you are fully vaccinated, I guess. And what counts as fully vaccinated. Like will two shots of Sputnik work, for example?

You can already run to US for second shot without quarantining upon your return. Problem is US says it's not an essential trip and won't let you over in the first place.

I thought the US was ok with us coming over and the blockage was on the Canadian side. Could be very wrong though

It was originally scheduled for July 25'th. The "magic date" for being move up eligible at this point was first shot given before (IIRC) April 11'th, which I was before. So I was eligible to request a move up.

I wasn't able to do it online, and there was some snags doing it by phone even due to limited supply of Moderna - I have to go to a different (but closer, that's OK) location for my second shot versus my first due to supply limitations, but I'm not complaining.

Doubt it - it takes about 2 weeks for that second shot to really hit full effectiveness, so running across for a day or two and getting the shot while you're there and then coming home probably technically still puts you as only having a single shot in the eyes of the government. And then there's the potential nightmare trying to get that second shot recognized and entered in our systems here so that when the vaccine passports or whatever come out for world travel purposes you actually show as having both shots.

Depends (it seems like it happened in a few places), but in general, no, the USA didn't consider it "essential" travel and was blocking it.

And getting back home has the potential quarantine hotel quagmires.

Similar here. Had been Aug. 3, rescheduled to June 17.

Reading the news just coming out today about the border closures. Seems there's quite a bit of grumbling (turning into yelling) on the other side of the border now telling our side to get a move on.

Yes, I know we've been far more cautious than the USA through all this, and we've fared much better as a direct result, but now that vaccines are widespread...I agree, it seems like we're dragging our feet now.

There's even rumours the USA may decide to open their side unilaterally in the next 4 weeks if something doesn't change on our side. Wouldn't that be interesting.

If the requirement is that people going both ways need to be fully vaccinated, then so be it. Some of the "Gobless Murica" crowed won't like it, but who cares - our country, our rules. I'd like to think the USA will have the same requirements. Hopefully we can just get some simple uniformity so it's not a mishmash of rules.

Not sure that particular crowd are regular visitors to what they consider the socialist republic of Canada. However, if it does cut down on the freedumb types visiting Canada I have zero issues with a complete vaccination requirement.

At some point they are going to have to pull the trigger and open everything up. If we keep waiting then what is the gain if we are vaccinated.
